In this Bridge Learn release (Aug 4), You can share categories, tags, and the learner relevance set in the root account with subaccounts when you share content. |
Updated Feature
Sharing Categories, Tags, and Learner Relevance with Subaccounts
You can share categories, tags, and the learner relevance set in the root account with subaccounts when you share content. This allows you to manage and organize content for your subaccounts much more easily. For example, you will be able to curate the learning library by adding categories and tags to the content and sharing it with the All Learners group in the library.
Notes:
- You can only set the relevance for the All Learners Group.
- You cannot edit or remove the categories or tags in the subaccount
- This functionality does change the API response for tags. The API will return tags as an array of objects instead of strings.

Would you please explain the graphic? For example, the Customer Success subaccount is not toggled for Categories & Tags. That means that categories and tags from the main account will not transfer to the course in the subaccount? The Customer Success subaccount is toggled for Learner Relevance. That means ??? And it is toggled for Access. That means ??? Also, I don't understand the comment in the introductory paragraph that reads, "You can only set the relevance for the All Learners Group." Does this mean that I cannot set the relevance for a single Subaccount group as Required?
Hi, Heidi Clark! The idea here is that you can recreate a Learning Library that is visible for the "All Learners" group from the root account to any subs. Historically, you could only give access to a course in the sub-account (categories, tags, and learner relevance would not transfer). As far as the toggles in the illustration, access must first be toggled on for the other two toggles to be operational. You also do not have to share categories and tags and learner relevance if you simply want to push access to a course to another account.
In the example, the "Customer Success" account can see the course. If the learner relevance in the root account were set for view by "All Learners" in the Learning Library, that behavior would also happen in this particular sub.
For the Sales sub-account, the course is shared down and both categories and tags and learner relevance are also shared.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Hello,
In your screen capture, what is the purpose of toggling on Learner Relevance? What happens if Access and Tags & Categories are toggled on, but Learner Relevance is toggled off?
Thanks,
Tara
Hey, Tara Hicks! If you only toggle on categories and tags, then the content will affiliate from the root to the sub with those categories and tags. It will not be visible to any learners. If the relevance is set to show in the Learning Library for all learners and you toggle on the learner relevance, then the content will appear for all learners in the Learning Library of the affiliated sub-account. That is the only learner relevance that is able to be applied since groups can be different across accounts. If the toggle is on for relevance and relevance for all learners is not set in the root, nothing will happen to expose courses to learners in the sub. If the toggle is off for relevance, the content will not be exposed to any learners until an admin sets it in the sub-account.
Is there a way for tags and categories to sync up with the previously created ones? We have the same tags and categories across the board and the new feature will duplicate what we already had created.
Hi, Mariana Caldera! At this time, we don't have a way to sync the categories together. Please feel free to submit a feature request if you have interest in that functionality and it would support your business. You can always reach out to support@bridgeapp.com if you have any specific questions.
