Bridge Advanced Video can be positioned as a page in the Learning Library navigation.
Containers, the folder system in BAV, can be set up for both internal and external visibility, and all of these will nest inside the overarching navigation within the user’s Bridge instance. You can call this whatever you like. We have named it “Resource Library.”
Canopy images, course titles, and free text options for container descriptions can be leveraged to create an on-brand and custom experience inside of Bridge.
You can find more notes on BAV branding here.
The current state of folder permissioning means that all learners will have access to all videos in all containers through the Learning Library navigation.
We have put together our recommendations on how to leverage the containers in order to keep this organized for your users.
Overall, it’s a great way to keep moment-of-need content where continually re-opening a course for review would be cumbersome for a learner.
- Seasonal product or company updates
- Department or company recorded meetings
- PDFs with graphics or important processes
- Resource toolkits (i.e. hiring, onboarding, etc.)
- Printable checklists
- Short “how to” videos (i.e. submit an expense report, login to Salesforce, etc.)
- Other frequently accessed resources
The key distinction for this area, should you choose to use it, is that these are NOT learning items in Bridge that will generate a “completion” status - or any status - on a transcript.
At this time, there is no relevance (required, recommended, or available in Learning Library) associated with the resources like you see in Bridge for learning items and categories.
The objective of the library is to provide quick access to resources that the learner needs without them having to enroll or re-enroll in a course.
There ARE analytics specific to BAV. Go to the container and click on the “metrics” button:
The metrics will look like this (and the “viewing activity” is customizable for dates of your choosing):
If you do not want all BAV resources to be visible to all users in your Bridge instance, then we would not advise using this feature.
If you are interested in using it but want to clean up how the videos are exposed (or potentially put course-specific content in a container at the bottom of the page with language to tell the user that the content can be viewed but will not support their Bridge-specific experience), you can check out our article here.
Again, there is no current way to lock views of containers through permissions or learner relevance.
