How do I make a video or file from BAV available publicly?

A public container has permissions that allow for non-Bridge users to view the BAV content.

Here are some important things to know:

  • It does not eat up a Bridge license to view the resource
  • Like all other BAV content, it has its own metrics (these do not currently integrate with Bridge Analytics)
    • Can show unique time viewed for a piece of content
    • Auto-send reports to any users via email
  • An invitee entry form can be put up to gather the user’s email address and name upon entry, which will expose in the BAV metrics but NOT in Bridge Analytics
  • Excellent for exposing a subset of users to content with no barrier of entry to view the content
    • Partner training
    • Customer training
    • Pre-onboarding high-level company culture videos
  • Would not be any sort of replacement for coursework that needs a clearly defined state of an enrollment for assigned, active, overdue, and completed
    • Compliance training
    • Granular onboarding journeys
    • Trainings with certifications
    • Upskill training for career mobility

 

In our How to use Bridge Advanced Video as a content library article, we have built out three public containers.

These are visible in the Admin view of BAV within Bridge and in the resource library (or name of your choosing) if you’ve added BAV to your Learning Library navigation.

SIDE NOTE. Containers cannot be made public without intervention by Bridge Support. Contact our team in chat through Bridge or via support@bridgeapp.com. You will want to provide the name of the container.

You can leverage the unique URLs for the respective containers so that users land into a specific container. For example, partners could go directly into the partner portal: 

SIDE NOTE. The “All Content” in the breadcrumb would send the user back to the landing page for all public containers (with visibility to all content in those containers).

You can easily see views of the resources.

The metrics in BAV will define public users as “Anonymous User” in the report.
