In this session, recorded May 2024, Stephanie showcases all of the ways you can leverage Bridge Advanced Video.
This webinar explores
- Media courses (you can require learners to view specific percentages of content)
- Public content (users can see this content WITHOUT using a Bridge license)
- Resource library (inside your Bridge instance)
FAQ
I think I need a more basic introduction to BAV, where is the best place to start?
Our BAV resources page has a recorded version of our training and other help articles.
Is there training/videos that goes into detail for the settings that are available when uploading content to BAV?
We recommend this one here.
How do you get BAVs to show up in the resource library?
Contact Bridge Support (support@bridgeapp.com) and they will enable it for you!
Here are some key things you’ll want to note:
- What you want to name it (this can be customized)
- That you are comfortable that all content will be visible to all learners in the account
We have a great article on creating a resource library here.
Can you limit the users who view/see the Resource Library? Is it possible to limit the visibility to just admins?
We can't limit visibility of the resource library to specific users at this time.
Is the resource library only available for the Root account? Can you set up the resource library per subaccount? So all of our sub-accounts can see the same content? We can't target specific subaccounts?
Yes, you can enable the Resource Library on your sub-accounts as well. Using Shared containers
To force 80% of the video being watched before clicking continue, the Required Score needs to be 80% of a media only course? Just want to make sure I understand that correctly! So for the quiz percentage to be functional, you cannot have a cover slide on the BAV course?
Correct, in order to require a watch threshold, it needs to be a media only course. This can not contain a cover slide. You can then set the required watch time by setting the required quiz score % (we recommend not going over 85-90% as it can be more frustrating to learners than helpful). See more here.
Is there a way to export the content that is in BAV?
Yes, you can enable content downloading in the settings when managing your BAV content.
What is the max file size for BAV?
There is no max file size but performance can be impacted around 7GB total file size (mainly due to internet connection and timeouts). There are options for compression without compromising video quality if that is the case.
How would you use BAV content as a category so it shows up in analytics?
Great question. Learners should have clear expectations that anything watched from the Resource Library is not going to show up in their Transcript as part of Analytics. If you want the BAV content to be self-enrollable in Bridge, then we would advise using categories. Check out this help article for best practices.
Can you show me how to copy content in BAV to another container?
Select “copy from library” as one of the options for adding media.
Please note that COPYING content is different from REFERENCING content. There will be a new unique URL for the new unique piece of content (that can be edited). If you want to keep the source of truth of the content, then you will want to create a reference.
You will need your permissions modified by reaching out to Bridge Support to have the ability to create a reference.
Is the Resource Library something that can work in the mobile app?
At this time, the Resource Library is not available in the mobile app although it can be viewed on a mobile device.
Public containers work on mobile devices, as well.
