This article will walk customers (that have purchased Develop) through how to manage Skills as an Admin in the Talent Marketplace.
There are three ways to add Job Titles to the Talent marketplace:
- Admins can upload Job Titles on the Manage Users page (via CSV), or via an Auto CSV connection. In order for the Job Title to show in the Talent Marketplace, the default 'Job Title' field in Bridge will need to be used. This field can be viewed in the 'Job Info' section of an employee's information page (see screenshot below).
2. Admins can also manually add Job Titles in the Talent Marketplace.
3. Admins can upload Job Titles via CSV in Talent Marketplace.
Best practice for importing Job Titles via CSV:
- If there are Job Titles in the account already, begin by exporting the Job Title CSV
- Next, remove the following columns before importing the CSV:
- Id
- External Id
- Source
- Employee count
- The required fields when importing the Job Titles CSV are:
- Job Title
- Skills
Once the import is complete, the Admin can then review the Job Titles in the Talent Marketplace and map Skills to the Job Titles:
- First review Job Titles with the “Custom” tag. This means that Lightcast doesn’t recognize the Job Title so there are no recommended skills or Job Title suggestions. Lightcast is a company that we have partnered with. They are a worldwide authority on labor market data and we utilize their library of 32k+ skills.
- Next review the Job Titles with the “Needs Review” tag. Lightcast will suggest Job Titles and recommended skills that closely match the customer Job Title.
- Next, review the Job Titles with zero skills mapped. These are Job Titles that Lightcast has recognized and will provide recommended skills for.
- Next, you can manually upload Skills to Job Titles via CSV. Note: we only add net new skills: i.e. If the skill is not present in the CSV, then the skill will not be removed from Bridge.
Finally, Admins can export a CSV of their Job Titles and the associated Skills, by clicking on the spreadsheet icon and selecting "export CSV".
FAQ's
When can Job Titles be deleted?
Job Titles can only be deleted if there are no employees which have that Job Title. Please note that deleting a Job Title will only impact the root account and not any sub-accounts.
Where can employees be mapped to a Job Title?
Employees can be mapped to a Job Title via your Auto CSV file (if you have that connection set up) or on the Manage Users page. Employees can only be mapped to a Job Title that exists in Bridge.
What happens if a Job Title has two employees mapped to it, and then in Bridge the two employees are removed from the Job Title?
In this situation, the Job Title will show that zero employees are mapped to it, but the Job Title will still appear in the Talent marketplace. Once Bridge reflects that there are no employees that have that Job Title, it can be deleted.
Can a Job Title be edited in the Talent Marketplace?
A Job Title name cannot be edited in the Talent Marketplace at this time.
Are there safeguards in place to protect against duplication of Job Titles?
Case sensitivity and spaces are taken into consideration when reviewing Job Titles so that duplicate Job Titles aren’t created. For example: Sales Operation and sales operation are treated as one Job Title: “Sales Operation”.
How do I know 'where' a Skill came from that I'm seeing in Bridge?
When a Skill is added to a Job Title there are two sources:
- Bridge = The Skill is a direct match to Lightcast.
- Admin = The Skill is not a direct match to Lightcast and is considered a custom Skill.
When will a Job Title show up in the Talent Marketplace?
If a new Job Title is added to Bridge, it will take up to 24 hours to display in the Talent Marketplace as the system sync's overnight. If new users are uploaded (or removed) from the account and have a Job Title that already exists in the Talent Marketplace, then the user count in the Talent Marketplace will update immediately. Job Title changes will also display in real-time.
