Assigning Staff Multiple Managers
Hey folks,
I work for a company in the grocery business where at the retail level there are at least two managers for each store, a Store Director and Assistant Store Director(s). The way it's currently set up in Bridge, with our HRIS connection, only the Store Director is given the ability to have direct reports that automatically update with our overnight CSV uploads.
The problem is that the Assistant Store Director (ASD) position at the store is being asked to monitor completion rates of training courses for their stores. I can't seem to figure out a way to create a role for our ASDs that functions the same as a Store Director without having to manually assign and remove staff members for them. This is a concern because of the high turnover rate in our field.
Has anyone found themselves in a similar situation? What did you do? What sort of workarounds did you try?
Thank you,

Hi Patrick!
Our situation is similar-- we are a credit union and most branches/departments have an assistant manager and manager. Our employees report to the assistant manager and the manager is able to see Analytics for the assistant manager and the employees that report to the assistant manager. Since our hierarchy is linear from employee to assistant manager to manager, the system shows the manager the information you are looking for by default with the standard manager permission that is auto assigned when a learner has direct reports. I tested a few people in our instance and the manager role can see all of the employees that report up through their direct reports. In your case, I wonder if it would be possible to use the Assistant Store Director as the employee's manager in the system. I'm wondering if your Customer Success Manager can connect you with an implementation person to advise and determine what would work best. Or, if there is an alternative option rather than changing who the employee reports to.
Hope something here is helpful!

Hi, Patrick Sutherland! Katie Swenson provided a great answer. You could potentially leverage a custom role for an Analytics viewer (we have a video on it here). It would be really helpful to better understand how your stores are set up and how your learners are being provisioned into Bridge. If you don't mind sending your question via email to bridgesuccess@bridgeapp.com, we can set you up with an expert to more directly answer your question to support your ASDs with their reporting needs.
