Emailing Overdue Learners in Programs Answered

Logan Siegler

Most courses and programs that I want to email Overdue learners has that option, but it seems that random ones only have the option to email All, Not Finished or Not Started and does not give the option to email the learners that are Overdue. Can anyone clarify if this is a setting issue during creation of the program or is this a glitch?

Hi, Logan. The only thing that comes to mind right away is that maybe there aren't any overdue learners in the courses or programs that don't have the option displayed. Since I am a Bridge employee I can use my access to check a bit further into this if wanted to share the name of one of the courses or programs.

The exact program that I am referring to that is giving me the issue right now is "Hazard Communication and the GHS". There are overdue learners in this program and it still does not give me the option to send to them. I attached a screen shot here.

    Hi Logan,

I'm wondering if the overdue learners message is only an option at the course level. If that's the case, it will make an extra step, but if they are overdue in both courses, it wouldn't hurt for them to get a nagging reminder from each one. Maybe that will spur them into action so they get their training done. ;)

This program is the only one that I have ran across with this issue. Attached is the Electrical Safety program and a screen shot of what is available to me through that program. Every other one that I have had to access lately is like this also besides the Hazcom program above.

Thanks for that extra information Logan Siegler! I think we figured out what's going on. Programs can have due dates as well as courses. If you have learners who are overdue in a course you'll have the option to message them and the same goes for a program. However, if you have no due date set for the program and you have learners overdue in a course within the program, you will not see the option to message them from the program level, but you will see it at the course level. Thanks for asking this question! I didn't know this and now I've learned something new!

Just remember that by setting a due date in both the program and the courses it contains that any redeployments get wonky. Turning off the program will prevent emails to overdue learners in the program, but it will also prevent weird reassignments.
