Navigating Bridge for end users Answered

Audrey Moore

We have a lot of people really struggling with understanding where they are at in a program while using Bridge. It would be helpful if there were some way to communicate that they are "inside" a program or course, rather than it feeling like a whole new webpage. It would be so helpful if there were some sort of navigation path across the top, similar to Windows File Explorer where you can see the folder path leading to your current "position." Another cool feature would be an animation of some kind when going into a program or a course, where the page swipes left when entering, right when exiting a program. We send a lot of screenshots to help people find what they are looking for.

Hi Audrey, It's interesting that your users are having this issue because our employees have been really happy with the new navigation. Our CSM provided us with a one-page document that was very helpful. Unfortunately, I can't get it to upload in this new Bridge Community. You might want to see if your CSM could provide that. Navigation is also a little different depending on if you use Bridge Learn only or if you have the whole suite. The post New Global Navigation in Bridge will provide both for you.

There was also a webinar when the new navigation was first released. You may not want to view the entire recording, but the slide deck might be really helpful.

Also, make sure you submit your request for enhancements either through your CSM or by using the new feature request tool built into the "Helpful Resources" area of your Bridge instance.

    Have a good day!

    Amy

I enjoy the new navigation for authors/admins/etc. This issue is regarding the end users. The users who are taking our training struggle with understanding if they are on their home page versus the main page of a program. Having the back option in the top left doesn't seem to be enough for them to understand where they are at.

We have the same issue here, the progress bar at the top of the course is just not helpful. Learners would like to have a better overview, like a journey. I think even something similar to what we have as authors with the slides on the left would be more helpful than the bar on the top.
