Move users from Sub Accounts to Root Account

Edward Duda

I initially created two sub accounts in addition to my root account. After using the system for nearly 1 year, I would like to remove the sub accounts and put everyone back into the root. All of the courses in the sub accounts exist on the root account. Is there a way for me to migrate my sub account users to the root account without losing their learning status'/profile?

    Hi there Edward Duda

We don't use subaccounts, but I tested them a few years ago when we were exploring them as an option. Here is the SubAccounts FAQ entry from Bridge's guides. I don't think they're designed to filter back up, just down. The user profiles are separate. I know this because I had to use my subaccount user profile to demo something as I needed a clean slate. I don't think there's a way around manually moving any profile customization back up to the main account. You could announce this to learners though and notify them that a profile reset is coming and spin it as a chance to update their profiles.

For learning history, there is an option. You could use reporting to import historical enrollment data. Here is the guide for bulk uploading historical enrollment data. Depending on the amount of data you need to move it may or may not be tedious. It's kind of like moving to a new LMS without moving to a new LMS.

    I hope this helps,

    Heidi
