If a module doesn't have a required score, more of a reading module, it would be great that the score wouldn't be shown on their transcript. Some learners get concerned when they see a 0%.
This is a great idea (and almost a bug). We're going to try to slip this in when we complete projects a little early. I'll keep you updated with any additional information.
Ike - I would love to hear more of how you might see this working from a copy / UX point of view. We currently utilise a course which is full of short answer quiz questions only and hence a pass mark / required score is obsolete (due to no way to validate the short answer responses). So setting the required score to not required makes sense for these courses.
This would improve the UX for when a learner completes this sort of course as it won't show 100% or 0% as short answer quiz questions are not graded (hence passmark is completely ignored anyway).
However I would then be interested in hearing how you think we may be best handling some form of approval of these short answer quiz question courses. I do already have an idea submitted on a course setting 'Requires Approval' but am seeing if I could potentially use this suggestion as a workaround to cover the fact that the course is 'completed' in the sense the user has added their responses but it is not showing 100% or 0%.
Bo Harris Annie Battad Andy Sauer Tyler Clark Jon Jensen this could be a good workaround for managing Extension Courses if the language around this can be more reflective that the learner has just completed their answers not got 100% or passed. E.g. "Thank you for submitting your responses".
for us it would also be great if the score doesn't show when a score is not required, as for a reading module, would you have an update on this?
