Allow a learner to retake a course they already completed or have not passed. Retake and review. Lynn Duffield DaVina Williams Dennis Jeannine Orr
Hey Lynn Duffield and DaVina Williams Dennis!
We would love to tackle this idea. Unfortunately we don't have a timeline. I've chatted with the product manager who would oversee this project and we're going to try to fit in whenever we get done early with a project.
I'm also merging a couple other related ideas with this one: .
I don't really understand if I choose the option "show most recent attempt," why doesn't it show my newest quiz score? If I took a course and scored a 80% and passed, and then took it again and scored a 90%, why doesn't that replace my other score? I have tested this multiple times.
Hey Danielle, that option should show your most recent score. If it doesn't I would encourage you to contact support!
I will send a note to support. I just tried again (as a learner). I saw my first score...not my score after i tried again and did much better.
Many of our courses require the learner to achieve a score of 100% on the quiz. If a learner misses a question, they're forced to continue through the remainder of the quiz, knowing that they'll retake the entire course anyway. We'd like to have a course option that allows learners to retake quizzes, even if they haven't completed the course yet.
This is an important feature for annual compliance training. Not clear on how to reassign courses given that the learner already completed it previously.
This problem is now emphasised since limiting the number of attempts of a quiz. Once a user has 0 attempts left there is no way for them to be able to be re-enrolled or given more attempts to complete.
The issue is if a user fails a mandatory course there is no way to ever get them to be able to complete the course as no way to have them retake it.

I'd like the ability to view all attempts, not just one attempt. If I allow for three, why don't I see three attempts?
On this point, Danielle, are you talking as a Learner or an Admin?
As an admin....I clicked export but only see my one attempt even though i attempted it twice.
Just adding here that this would be helpful for our use case. We have clients (sub-accounts) that want to roll out the same training two years in a row, but require end users to take the training both years. We've been troubleshooting how to handle this, but this feature would be helpful! Holly Fuemmeler Elise Blas
Here's an idea from Alyssa: 1) You can track a learners development over time, by seeing how scores improve (or not) with each additional take.
Bridge product is starting a discovery session around course retake workflow and need your help! Product management and product design will be holding several interview sessions on the Jan 24th (Wednesday) and Jan 30th (Tuesday) to talk with current customers around needs and use cases for learners retaking a course within Bridge. We will use the outcome of these interviews to educate the initial designs for this feature.

Can't wait to speak with you!
Just a FYI, I don't think this relates to a lot of the comments on this thread.
Thanks for your feedback Danielle Fleenor. I deleted my comment.
I wanted to give an update on this. Currently my team and I are working on adding functionality that enables those with permissions to force a learner to retake a course (This is for courses only to start) without having it impact that automatic re-enroll process. In addition, adding UI to show the history of enrollments for the user. Based on these conversations I feel confident that this feature will help several of your use cases but i'd love to hear more. In a few months i'll be creating a focus group within the community around this feature. If you're interested in being involved please let me know.
Thanks for all the conversation and insight into your use cases and I look forward to releasing this new functionality.
Would this be on a per-user basis, or is this something that could be applied at the group level or sub-account level?
This will start at the per user basis but with the intention of applying this to groups and across learning items.
I see this as extremely useful, and would like to see it implemented.
