We should have the ability to have one program or learning path be a prerequisite to another to avoid a learner accessing content at a higher level they are not ready for.
This is a major hurdle for us right now as we are in the process of a Global Onboarding program launch. Please create this ASAP! Alexis Fotheringham Kaitlin Syndergaard
There's a conversation that I think is really relevant to this on the community and I just wrote our use case for what I'm calling Curriculums on that thread - but I completely agree, and hope this is going to be able to be on Bridge's radar for the reasons I mention in my use case. Is there a plan to be able to add a program within a program? curriculums dynamic programs prerequisite programs
Yes! Love this idea, and I agree that curriculum development is a big need!
I believe that a student should have the ability to test out of taking a course with a pretest. This is a function that our learners were used to in our previous LMS for our annual courses and were not very happy to not see with Bridge. For repetetive subject matter that has to be reviewed annually it only makes sense that they should be given the opportunity to test out of course that they already have a good knowledge of because they have taken courses on the subject matter for many, many years. We tried to be creative the next year and do this with our employees by creating a program with two courses,. one with only questions and then the second course only one slide containing a hyperlink to the completed course with an explanation that if the student did not pass the test, they must click on the hyperlink and enroll in the course, pass the course and then go back to the previous slide and click on "complete" at the bottom of the page. If they passed the pre-test, they could by-pass the hyperllink and go directly to the complete button and push it to complete the course. The problem with this is that many of them did not read the second page instructions, went directing to the compete button whether they passed the pre-test or not. We had to audit al failed pre-test to se if they had followed the instructions correctly and then assign e them the requisite course when then had not! t was a real problem. We really need this fuction.
LOVE this idea!
Really like this idea! Currently we have pre-work items that we have our learners complete and it be nice to have a feature like this to prevent them from moving forward!
I'm just adding some links to related ideas as a way to cross reference them and make it easier to vote up/down. You may want to check out these ideas. It's interesting because they're different, but related.
Prereqs are key in creating a learning path for learners. Without them, the learning library is not as helpful as it could be.
I completely agree, and it will help maintain control of a true learning path functionality within Bridge to help people want to learn. That means they will need to start at a lower level, then work their way up in the content to make sure they have an actual grasp of the knowledge they should be getting in order to apply the concepts.
