I just created a new group and would like to create content available only to them
In Bridge, instead of assigning a course or program to a learner or group, you will assign the learner or group to the course or program. When you click on the course or program, find the Groups tab, click the + Group button, and in the Search field type in the name of the group, and select the group. If you created a Smart Group, bridge will make sure that going forward any learner that meets the rules of the group, will automatically be enrolled in that course or program.
Also, to make the content specific to that one group, make sure to not add the course in the learning library and only enroll that one group into the course. If you have multiple courses you would like to enroll that group in, you can bundle up the courses into a program and enroll that specific group of people into the program.
How do I add a program?
How do I view program details?
Were you able to implement Monique's directions? Did they work for you?
So if I understand correctly, there is no way to add something for a specific group to the Learning Library without making it public to all Learners. We are going to have internal folks; field sales folks; select dealers; and others (installation; specifiers; etc). There will be some modules that are not "required" that I want people to be able to access if they would like in the Learning Library if they chose, but I do not necessarily want all of our Learners to be able to view those modules/documents.
I wanted to use "My Learning" for all of the REQUIRED training modules and then have others under Learning Library for learners to take/view if they want/need to. Again, I cannot have some of these documents available to all Learners. Please advise if there is a way to do this (assign certain modules to certain groups within the Learning Library).
You are correct. There is currently not an option to separate the learning library for specific groups of learners. I love the idea though. I'll add this as a feature request for you. I'm sure other clients would like to see this as a feature as well. You can always tag courses by position or department name to make them easy to search, but you can't hide courses that are in the learning library from other learners.
I hope this answers your question. I'll tag you in the feature request.
I'll add my voice to Carrie Decker's comment!
Hi Monique Mensah
Was this ever noted as a feature request? It is something that would make our lives an awful lot easier too! We have specific training for managers that we only have licenses for the managers to complete, but because we have to make everything in the library available to everyone we cannot showcase the learning.
Yes. Different learning libraries was noted as a feature request. You can vote, add your comments, and follow it by clicking the link below. It's also on our road map and it's COMING SOON! You can sign up for some time to provide your comments in an interview here!
Fantastic news! I'll eagerly await the new feature...
Hi Monique - Can you give any indication as to time frame for "COMING SOON"? I've participated in an interview already about a month ago. Just looking for a timeline update. I am getting ready to create a sub account just to address this specific issue and can't hold off much longer. Thanks for any help.
Hi Amy, I sent a message to our product team with your question. We should have an answer for you shortly.
Typically projects that are coming soon are going to be in the next quarter. In this case, we're working on the ability to publish content to just a portion of your learners in Bridge. We anticipate the feature being completed before the end of the year.
Thanks for the reply Jon. Unfortunately I can't wait for the enhancement so I need the sub account question answered. I am going to have to move forward with the sub account to accomplish this but before I do I want to make sure I am understanding correctly that the main account library courses can be selected to also be in the sub account without recreating and most importantly Live Training registration. I need to be able to create one live training that users from the main account and sub account can register for. Does that make sense? If I should be reaching out to support to ask these questions, please let me know.
Great question -- usually people start with searching here in the community for questions and then contact our support team if they still haven't found an answer.
Courses can be shared from the root account to sub accounts. Live Trainings can be shared as well, but unfortunately the sessions aren't shared, so Sub Account users can't see or register for the same sessions as the root account. It would be great to hear more about how you're wanting to use Live Training. I'll reach out to Ben Lowell and the CSM team and work out a time for a meeting.
Jon - I'd love that. Much easier to explain in a live conversation. The sooner the better. We are using WEB Ex as our training registration tool and I'm trying to end that contract by the end of this month and need to let them know ASAP if we are going to extend. Thanks!
