What notifications are sent for online and live courses within a Program? How about Tasks? In other words, what is meant by "each step"?
It sends the standard enrollment notification for the next course of the program:
MICHAEL HALL, you're enrolled in a new course:
Bridge 101b: Manage Courses Due Date: Thursday, 22 June 2017 Required Score: 0%
Julie, Mike Hall has given you excellent guidance. When "Send Notification at Each Step" is set to the On position, the program sends a course enrollment notification, and the learner is enrolled into the program. If learners are supposed to take the courses in order, after they take the first, they will automatically be enrolled in the second. They'll then get a new enrollment notification (for the subsequent course). If the "Send Notification at Each Step" setting is set to the Off position, they won't see those.
Hope this helps!
My organization has an issue specifically around notifications about live trainings in a program. We discovered that regardless of the notification setting, learners received a flood of notifications for every live training in the program immediately after starting. I was told by support that the notification setting doesn't apply to live trainings due to them being "time sensitive." Starting a program doesn't register the learner for any sessions, but it does invite them to the live training. I'd really like the option of suppressing those notifications, as it seems a little spammy to send the learner so many at once.
thanks for noting this, Greg. We have a use case where learners will be able to see three different sessions for a live training (to accommodate timezones) and will choose which to participate in. Is what you are saying that if I register for 1 of the 4 sessions available for a live training, I will get notifications for the other two I'm not attending? Would be great to get this clarification. Thanks.
