For example capturing additional interest when we have rooms with a max number of seats?
This is a great idea, especially for larger organizations. It would be helpful for trainers to know how many people are interested so they can gauge if and how many additional sessions should be added.
It would also be helpful if there was a way to integrate with other scheduling apps like Calendly or ScheduleOnce.
Recently, I needed to offer multiple 15 min one on one sessions for employees to register for 401k enrollment and I opted to NOT do it in Bridge, but use Calendly instead.
Automatic waitlist capability is a high want for our institution! Meanwhile we need to load waitlist classes and manually monitor the capacity of the main classes.
Having a waitlist for live trainings should just be a standard feature and I'm confused why this is not available. I agree with the comments above and would place a high priority on this feature for anyone that conducts live training events.
I think there is a pretty easy work around for this. If you create an additional session with unlimited seats and put "WAITLIST" as the location for the session, it will look like the image below for people when there are still seats available in the session. They can click the top registration button to register for the live class.
When all of the seats are filled for the live session, it will look like the image below.
That would allow you to capture people on the waitlist while making it obvious to them that they are getting on a waitlist. Moving someone from the waitlist to the live class on the admin side is pretty simple, although not automatic.
Would something like that meet your needs?
Joshua - this is what we are currently doing and I want to make sure folks understand this is not a solution - but it is a work around that we only need to implement temporarily. We can't wait for a real solution that will create a wait list and allow authors to manage the wait list by either moving the live training to a new location and then moving folks off the waitlist, or for the functionality to auto-register someone on the waitlist when someone unregisters for the training. I'm not sure what we need to do to get this issue into Bridge's roadmap, but this is a critical one for us. The workaround is manual, time-intensive, and cumbersome for both the admin and the learner. The best I can say for it it that it is better that not having anything at all.
Dave, if you haven't yet, please add your support to Waitlist for Live Training Sessions.
Joshua Pope, I work with Dave Hoffman and I have also voted up the Waitlist for Live Training Sessions that Stefanie Sanders mentions above. While I like your addition to the workaround -- putting WAITLIST as the location -- the full workaround still does not address two things: 1) the need for an automatic waitlist feed, as Dave already described and 2) the non-customizable notifications learners get for any session (including waitlist sessions). For example: “Thomas Hansen, you're all registered! We'll see you at the following live training.” and “Thomas Hansen, your session of Mindset for Supervisors, Summer Waitlist is starting soon...” This is confusing to learners because even though the words say "waitlist" the message is "you're all registered and your session is starting soon!" We had four waitlisted learners show up yesterday to a packed house with no room, and the instructor was already teaching so had no good choice but to just let them in...it was chaotic. We are testing how to play with notifications and toggling on/off Learning Library for waitlists as part of our workaround but honestly, even the clunkiest registration systems we have ever used for live trainings all have an auto waitlist feed. Thanks for listening.
