How does your organization use Surveys in Bridge?
I'm looking for some use cases and best practices on how Surveys can be leveraged in Bridge Learn.
Thanks in advance!
We host a lot of surveys in Bridge, but we don't build them using the Bridge internal survey tool. We find it to not have a robust enough feature set for what we need.
We build out surveys in an external authoring tool and deploy them as SCORM so we can collect all the responses and then run reports and analytics on them.
We have done three significant surveys I can tell you about.
The first one is our orientation survey. It asks the user to rate and give feedback on their interview/hiring process as well as their first few days on the job. We use different gauges, sliders, and menus to make it a little more interesting to fill out. This gives us good insight into how people feel at the beginning of their time with us.
The second use of surveys is ones that we embed in each course at the end. We put a three item, star rating survey at the end of every course so people can tell us what they thought of the content, the interactions, and the value to their job. That has proven helpful with us seeing which courses and interaction types work well for people and which ones they don't care for.
The third was a survey we did on how our people use one of the products we sell. We give every employee one of our products and then we survey them once every 4 months ans ask them how they are using it. At the end of the survey, it dynamically puts together a list of recommendations for them on how they can improve their use of the product. Then 4 months later we see if they have improved and we give them a new list of items they can do to improve their use. It's actually a pretty fun one and gives us some great insight into how our product is being used.
I agree with Joshua. The Bride survey tool is very limited in its use. We ended up using a different survey tool.
Joshua, what tool are you using for this, "The second use of surveys is ones that we embed in each course at the end. We put a three item, star rating survey at the end of every course so people can tell us what they thought of the content, the interactions, and the value to their job. That has proven helpful with us seeing which courses and interaction types work well for people and which ones they don't care for."
I use a tool called SmartBuilder. It is a super powerful SCORM development platform that allows you to design with WYSIWYG components and then add in robust SCORM programming simply without having to know much about coding SCORM. It allows you to record data from any type of interaction, hotspot clicks, likert scales, drop menus, gauges, sliders, open ended questions, and so forth. If you can dream it up, you can build it in SmartBuilder. It's my favorite.
You send the survey data to an LRS if I recall, correct?
Also, thanks for the API videos, you did an excellent job presenting the topic.
I actually send the survey data straight to Bridge. Then I run the reports out of Bridge using the Quiz Stats report and do my analytics from there in Excel.
...and you're welcome for the videos. I'm glad you found them useful.
