Is there a way to be notified when a course is complete? So when someone completes a course, get a notification that it has been completed?
Hi Mandi Christensen,
Bridge doesn't have anything specifically designed to do this, but it may be helpful to better understand the specific scenario. There are folks out there using courses and checkpoints in programs to create intervention points or breaking up courses into modules so that a learner has to do something to move from module a to module b. Can you tell us more about your specific need? Maybe we can come up with a solution.
Hi Heidi, there is a course that we have asked our business partners to use as a training project request form. So I was hoping there would be a way to be notified when one was submitted so we could get started on the project. Instead of having to go in each day to see.
Well, then. You could put in the course to instruct partners to contact someone to have it made available now or use the course to set an expectation that it will be checked weekly, etc.
I don't know if a checkpoint would be better or worse, but you could use it to generate a request for approval. Someone would still have to go in and approve, but that would give you better tracking of whether or not the partner's request has been fulfilled assuming you may have multiple people checking.
I wonder if there's something cool that you could do with the API...
But of course, the API can! The API can at least provide who all has exactly completed the course. You can then set it to make regular checks and to see if that has changed at all. You would then have to code your preferred method of notification from there. Mandi Christensen, accessing the API is something that Joshua Pope below has created wonderfully informative short video tutorials on. You could then have an IT Department or just any person with the technical capability to code be able to write the rest. API Documentation is here: Bridge LMS API Documentation
Did you build the form using Bridge Native authoring or is it SCORM? If it's SCORM, you might be able to accomplish this with a little code snippet in your lesson that executes when the form is submitted. Let me know if it's SCORM and if so, I'm happy to research that code and get you something you can try.
If it is SCORM, this is also something that Articulate has native functionality for if it's the authoring tool of choice. You can have it set a trigger so that when something happens or they get to the end slide, that it then sends an email to an address of your choosing.
