Live trainings occasionally will say "Session over? Tell us who made it and who didn't." How do I mark the live session complete at this point? We've marked the attendees and usually that's enough.
Hi James Brown,
I'm just curious, when you say you've marked the attendees, do you mean you marked them so they have a checkmark across their profiles to indicate they did in fact attend or did you add them to the session? You can add them to the course without adding them to a specific session. If they have been added to a session, you then still have to mark them present after the session.
The tool was designed to allow Authors to add attendees at the course level and then let them pick which session they will attend. Then after the session is over, the Author would go into the session and verify attendance by clicking the name. This will put a check mark over it. I just want to make sure you've done that step when you say you marked the attendance and that you didn't just add them to the specific session they attended. They have to be added and then marked.
If I haven't totally missed the mark (a little pun intended here), How do I take attendance for a live training? should be helpful.
Amy - thanks for your reply. It's always good to ensure that I've tried the basics before trying to get more complicated. Unfortunately, in this case, they've been added to the session and I marked them so they have a checkmark over their avatar.
This is the process we follow every time and 99% of the time it works, its just sometimes that it doesn't. I've got other sessions within the same course that have tabulated by the system. Just a couple that still say that "Session over?" message.
Interesting. We've never had this happen before unless we forgot to go in and mark learners as complete, which is a really great time to get that notification! It seems like something isn't processing through with your completions. Have you contacted support to make sure there isn't a known issue? Sorry I'm no help, but I'm curious to see where this goes.
Thinking about this some more, I would definitely capture a log of when this happens and see if support can identify some sort of glitch that's causing the system to not recognize that the session is over and attendance has been completed.
