Is there anyway to create a survey and restrict it so that only the people doing the survey can see it in the surveys list? Also, are able to customize the answer type?
Welcome to the community, Amber Patterson! We use a third-party survey tool but we would like to start using Engage as well so I figured this would be a good time to look into it a little. I did some testing in my sandbox and I'm having trouble. I might be able to answer your questions, but I'm also going to have to contact support or my CSM to see what's going on. I never like to test things out in our live account with real users and I'm having trouble getting Engage to work at all in my sandbox.
When you say you only want certain people to see the survey in the surveys list, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Your end-users will only see the survey if it was assigned to a group they belong to. For example, let's say you're a manager and you have 10 direct reports. Bridge will have a smart group called Amber's Learners. Assigning the survey to that group will mean that on the My Learning page, only the 10 people down your chain in the organization will get the survey. Nobody else will see it. Your direct reports will get an email invitation or they can do this: How do I view my survey invitations? – Bridge Development Suite
If you're looking at Author view, I think all authors will be able to see the survey and results. I'm not sure that there is any way to restrict it to only some authors. You could check with support and see if there is a setting you could choose in a custom role for that. We made a custom role to prevent our authors from editing courses that they didn't create so it might be possible.
You can create your own questions in addition to the ones that are ready-made in the tool. How do I manage engagement survey questions for an account? – Bridge Development Suite will help you learn how to get to the questions as an admin. Of course, that's assuming you're an admin. Authors can also create questions when creating surveys when using the tool. There are two options: the blank survey template - How do I create and distribute an engagement survey for an account using the blank survey template? – Bridge Development… and the engagement survey template - How do I create and distribute an engagement survey for an account using a pre-created engagement survey template? – Bri… Either way, your answer choice options are Likert, multiple choice, or free text.
Hopefully this provides you with some help.
One more thing to note is that if you turn off notifications while testing Engage, it doesn't turn off Engage notifications. Be careful with that! I accidentally sent out a test survey. Fortunately, it was assigned to a small group.
