At times, you may need to update the re-enrollment behaviours of a course (i.e. the learner originally needed to retake the course every one year, but now they only need to take the course every two years).
For those learners who have already completed the course, or for even just a specific set of learners, you can make these changes in bulk via the “add via CSV” option in Bridge.
Let’s look at Stephanie Admin. Her enrollment in the course History of Britney Spears is set to expire on February 28, 2023.
By exporting the enrollments for the course, we will get a CSV file that contains learner and course data. The important columns here are column B with the UID for the learner and column S with the expiration date for the active enrollment.
We recommend manipulating the file to put the UID and the expiration dates next to each other for the sake of uploading and mapping.
In this scenario, we are going to change the expiration date for Stephanie Admin to February 14, 2023. It is important to also change the date formatting (we’ve chosen mm/dd/yyyy).
Once this file is saved, you will go to the “Add via CSV” hyperlink.
From here, you will see the mapping options for adding enrollments. The important thing to note here is that since the enrollments that you are modifying are active (i.e. they have an expiration date), Bridge is not going to create new enrollments.
Sidenote. It is not possible to have two ACTIVE enrollments in Bridge for the same UID to the same course ID.
Any inactive enrollments will not be impacted by the changes that you make on this upload.
Once the file is pulled into Bridge, you will need to map the UID and the expiration date columns. In our example, we have minimized the report to only include the learner’s name, the UID, and the expiration date.
Sidenote. It is fine to pull in more columns in the file when making these changes. The mapping process will only initiate changes for the selected columns.
Once you hit confirm, you will be directed back to the course where you will see your changes.
The learner will now get notified of re-enrollment with the new date.
