If you're looking for extra tips on image dimensions and branding, this is the go-to resource. Keep in mind that high-resolution images can slow down page load times, so it's important to use the right dimensions.
- For optimal performance, we recommend using an image with a horizontal edge around 1500px, keeping it under 3000px to enhance page load speeds.
- When selecting the “Fit to Screen” option, aim for a 5:1 ratio image (e.g., 2560x512, 2000x400, 2500x500, 1920x384).
- For the “Fill Screen” option, go for a 4:1 ratio image (e.g., 2560x640, 2000x500, 2500x625, 1920x480).
You can also toggle between your primary and reverse brand logos to align with your branding preferences.
For the best visual quality, brand logos should be around 800px on their longest edge.
In this example:
- The brand image has dimensions of 2000x400.
- The “Bridge” logo is 800x200.
When applied in the UI, this will create a clean, professional look with proper image scaling, ensuring your branding appears sharp and aligned.
For greater control over the size of your logo or to add custom text to a background image, it's best to create these elements in design programs like Adobe or Canva. Make sure that any readable content in the image is centrally positioned both vertically and horizontally for optimal visibility.
To avoid horizontal cut-offs on mobile devices, use the “Fit to Screen” option.
In our example, we used Canva to design a vertical image with dimensions of 800x1600, with the logo perfectly centered both horizontally and vertically, ensuring a seamless display across all screen sizes.
After uploading the image into Custom Branding, simply turn off the toggle to reveal the logo. This allows the custom image and logo to display together seamlessly within the interface.
In the user interface, it will display with your custom image in the background and the centered logo overlaid, creating a cohesive branded look. The layout will ensure that your logo remains prominent while the background image adjusts according to the screen size and selected view option (e.g., “Fit to Screen” or “Fill Screen”).
Similar behaviors can be applied to the Learning Library header. Using Canva again, we resized a high-resolution image to 2000x1000 for optimal display. We recommend placing your logo or any desired text directly onto the background image using a program like Adobe or Canva. This approach better accommodates varying screen sizes, ensuring a consistent look across devices.
If you go this route, you'll want to toggle the logo off and turn on the Custom Title option. However, don't enter any text in the free text space. If you decide to leave the Custom Title toggled off, note that "Learning" will be placed at the top of the Learning Library page in the branded font color by default.
The Custom Branding page for the Learning Library Header should look like this:
This is how it will appear in the UI:
To maximize branding opportunities with content, we recommend utilizing Category images and Course cover slides. Avoid placing text on these images, as the titles for Categories and Courses will overlay on them. To ensure optimal page load speeds, we also recommend keeping the horizontal edge of these images under 1000px.
To add Category images, navigate to Admin > Learning > Manage Categories and click the image icon in the top right corner. If you download high-resolution images from the internet, use a tool like Canva to resize the images to the recommended dimensions.
These images will appear in the UI with a dark overlay to enhance the visibility of the white text, ensuring readability regardless of whether the user is in dark mode or light mode.
To add a cover slide to a course, click the down arrow on the blue "Add Content" bar at the top left-hand corner of the course creation page. From the dropdown, select the "Add Cover Slide" option.
Once selected, you will have several options for customizing the cover slide. You can adjust the intro text, and choose between using the primary or reverse logos to enhance the branding of your course.
Once published, the cover slide will appear in the UI as the first visual that users encounter, featuring your chosen branding elements like logos and customized intro text, ensuring a professional and cohesive look for your course.
