How to Publish a Bridge Author Pro Course

Direct publishing between Bridge LMS and Author Pro makes authoring your content fast and simple.

Read on or take a self-guided tour to learn how to publish Author Pro courses in Bridge LMS.

Open the Course Editor

Log into your Bridge account and go to Author > Gomo.

Click Courses in the left-hand navigation and +Create a new course. Alternatively, select an existing course to edit it.

Navigate to the Actions button in the top right corner of the screen, then Publish course from the dropdown.

There are two ways to get your courses into Bridge:

Publish a Course Directly to Bridge

Publishing a course directly to Bridge makes it available in your account without having to download and upload the SCORM package manually.

Choose Bridge from the list of options, then define the following details:

Domain URL

Enter the URL of your company’s Bridge account. You’ll see this URL in your browser when you’re logged into Bridge. It should look something like this: https://yourcompany.bridgeapp.com.

The URL is defined during the setup of the integration between Bridge and Author Pro and will be greyed out at this stage.

The connection to your Bridge instance must be configured beforehand as part of the initial setup required to complete a direct publish.

Tip: Author Pro admins can go to Admin > Account Settings > API to check that your account is integrated with Author Pro.

Google Analytics Tracking ID

If you have a Google Analytics account, you can add your tracking ID to your course to provide real-time data about your users, such as enrollments and engagement.

Enter a tracking ID in the field to link your account.

Course Attempt Style

When publishing to Bridge, select Completed, Passed, or Failed from the dropdown menu to ensure learner progress and completion data are tracked correctly. For the majority of customers, we recommend leaving this as the default.

Enable Connection Checker

Toggle the connection checker option on to alert users when the internet connection is lost.

This option is particularly useful for learners accessing content on mobile devices or in areas with a weak or unstable internet connection.

Click Publish to Bridge to make the course available in your account.

Once a course has been published from Bridge Author Pro, you’ll still need to publish it in the LMS before it’s available to your learners.

Go to Author > Courses in the primary Bridge navigation to configure your course details and select Publish Course to make it available to your learners.

Note: When you make any changes to your content in Author Pro, you’ll need to publish it again for these changes to be reflected in Bridge. When you publish your course in Author Pro, you’ll need to publish it again in Bridge to push the changes to learners.

Download a Course as SCORM and xAPI

You can also download your course and manually upload it to Bridge (or another platform). This is useful for sending content to an external translation agency or to other third-party sources.

Click SCORM and xAPI and configure the following settings:

Tracking Type

xAPI and SCORM files can track specific learner metrics during a course and report them to your LMS.

Use the dropdown menu to choose from one of the following options:

  • SCORM 1.2
  • SCORM 2004 3rd edition
  • SCORM 2004 4th edition
  • xAPI defined endpoint
  • xAPI undefined endpoint
  • Tracking not required

Google Analytics Tracking ID

If you have a Google Analytics account, you can add tracking to provide real-time data about learner activity and engagement.

Attempts Count

Use the dropdown menu to select whether to count an attempt when a learner passes or fails the course. For the majority of customers, we recommend leaving this as the default setting.

Enable Connection Checker

Toggle the option on to alert users when their internet connection is lost.

Click Publish to prepare your course for download, then click Download to save the zip file to your device.

Go to Author > Courses and click Upload in the top right corner of your Bridge account to add your file.
