Bridge can capture quiz and assessment data from SCORM courses, including question-level interactions. However, the level of detail available in reports depends on how the course was authored and published.
This article explains some of the reasons why Bridge might not receive or display all quiz data from a SCORM course, and how to maximize quiz reporting.
How SCORM Quiz Data Works in Bridge
Several factors affect how much quiz data is available, including:
- The authoring tool used (for example, Articulate Storyline or Rise)
- The SCORM version selected when publishing
- The question types included in the quiz
- Whether question-level tracking is enabled during publishing
Authoring Tools and Question Types
Different authoring tools send quiz data in different ways. The amount of data available depends on how the course was configured when it was published.
Some question types consistently report well, while others may not send complete interaction data.
Question types that usually report reliably include:
- Multiple choice questions
- True/false questions
Question types that may report inconsistently and send incomplete data include:
- Short answer or free-text responses
- Interaction types such as drag-and-drop or matching
- Other custom interaction types
These limitations are controlled by how the authoring tool packages and sends data to the LMS, not by Bridge itself.
SCORM Version
The SCORM version you use when publishing your course has a major impact on reporting details.
SCORM 1.2
Courses published using SCORM 1.2 often provide limited quiz detail. This version supports basic tracking, so question-level data may be incomplete or inconsistent.
SCORM 1.2 is best suited for simple completion and score tracking.
SCORM 2004 or xAPI (Tin Can)
Courses published using SCORM 2004 or the Experience API (xAPI) provide more detailed quiz reporting and support more detailed interaction data.
When configured to do so, this method can include individual question responses and is recommended for courses that require detailed quiz reporting.
Tip: If question-level reporting is important, publish using SCORM 2004 or xAPI whenever possible.

Why Quiz Reports Might Show Different Numbers of Questions
Bridge records quiz interaction data that the course sends during a session. If the course doesn’t send certain questions or responses, that information won’t be reported on.
For this reason, you may notice that quiz reports show a different number of questions for different learners.
This can happen if:
- The course uses a question bank with randomized questions from a larger bank.
- Learners only see a subset of available questions.
- Certain question types don’t send interaction data.
- The course is set up with branching or adaptive paths.
In these cases, Bridge is accurately reporting what the course sends for each learner session.
Tip: You can launch Bridge Author Pro inside Bridge, giving you the power to create and distribute SCORM courses, then track them with analytics. Reach out to your account manager or learn more.
Limits of Quiz Display in Reports
Most LMS reports focus on:
- Whether a question was answered correctly or incorrectly.
- Overall quiz score.
- Completion status.
In some cases, detailed response data, such as the exact answer selected or typed, may not be available unless the course was specifically designed to capture and transmit that information

Best Practices for Detailed Quiz Reporting in Bridge
To maximize question-level reporting in Bridge, follow the guidelines below:
- Publish your course using SCORM 2004 or xAPI
- Enable question-level tracking in your authoring tool’s publishing settings
- Use question types that reliably report interaction data (such as multiple choice or true/false)
- Avoid heavy reliance on free-text or complex interaction questions if reporting is critical
- Test the course in Bridge before full rollout to confirm reporting behavior
