I wish there were a way to ... (courses + live training)

Heidi Clark

I wish there were a way to create fields in the Settings area of our Courses and Live Trainings that we could manage internally.  Though I appreciate the power of Advanced Analytics, they only capture what is available in Bridge.  If we could add data to the Settings and then report on that, it would be ideal.  For example, I'd love to be able to categorize our training to make internal reporting analysis easier (e.g., compliance vs. leadership vs. professional skills), and other factors.  Required = yes does not necessarily indicate compliance training, since in Bridge, it includes discretionary learning that a user signed up for but did not attend.  And it doesn't show if a user completes a training before it is launched as required.

Hey, Heidi Clark ! I THINK I'm tracking with what you're asking here, and I'm curious if you have tried using categories for backend management that you could also use for reporting purposes? This would be a great way to pull from the Transcript more granularly than just required or not required. I also want to be clear that required content is any content that has a due date, which is provided when the course settings have a due date and the Learner Relevance is set to required for a learner or group.

Thanks for your reply.  I might try using categories that have no learner groups assigned to them. The other alternative is to track it in Excel.  This is surprising to find out that REQUIRED is anything with a due date.  We're seeing a lot of items marked as REQUIRED that don't have a due date.  It's usually live training sessions that learners signed up for but did not attend and did not cancel out of.  I've adopted the practice of removing them not only from the live training session but also from the Learning tab (where they showed as Invited), and also from any wait lists if they were employed.  That's helping a bit.
