Overview
Bridge has built a stand-alone integration application to communicate between Bridge and Shopify. This app extends Bridge’s e-commerce capabilities. Admin users can access an external application and send courses and programs created in Bridge to their Shopify environment.
How It Works
- Bridge will setup the application with a URL similar to https://{ instance-name}.bridge-shopify.bridgeapp.com.
- For your first user, Bridge will set up a default user and provide credentials for logging in.
- Log in using the credentials provided by Bridge and follow the steps below to change the default user to a user of your choice
- Simply navigate to the URL in Step 1, enter your credentials from Step 2, and voila-- you are successfully logged into the app!
You will see this looks similar to your Bridge instance. On the left navigation panel you will see three sections:
- Courses: Shows all courses in your Bridge instance.
- Programs: Shows all your programs in your Bridge instance.
- Administrators: Admin panel to manage who can access this application.
In the main body of the application, you can:
- Search for a specific course.
- View all courses.
- View courses already listed in Shopify.
- View courses that are not listed in Shopify.
When you locate the course or program you would like to send to Shopify, click the “Send to Shopify” button.
Send to Shopify
After you click this button, the application will send specific course information over to your Shopify instance. You will now see a new product in Shopify with the title of the Bridge course you sent. At this point, you can add additional information regarding that product including description, images, cost, etc.
NOTE: Your Shopify instance can be used at your own discretion, such as opening a Shopify website/webstore, using Shopify’s “Buy Now” button on an external site, etc.
How Users Are Enrolled in Bridge
- If a user purchases a Bridge-created product from your Shopify instance, the app will recognize that order and grab pertinent information regarding that user and their purchased courses.
- User accounts will be created in your Bridge instance if the registering user doesn’t already have an account.
- If the app finds a matching user (based on email address), the existing user will be enrolled in the purchased course(s).
To have an ordered product from Shopify auto-enroll a user in Bridge, the product must be created in Shopify via the “ Send to Shopify ” button in the application.
Obtaining an API Key from Shopify
You can check the Storefront access token, the API key, and the API secret for a custom app from the app's API credentials page. You can also check the Admin API access token, but after revealing it once, you can only check the last four digits of the token.
- From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.
- Click Develop apps.
- Click the name of the app that you want the credentials for.
- Click API credentials.
