What is Learner Relevance and how does it work?

Learner Relevance is:

The mechanism that supports exposing content to learners in different ways.

Content can be made visible to learners in four ways:

  • Required
  • Recommended
  • Available in the Learning Library
  • Through the Sharable Link

All of these can support with driving adoption.

Learner relevance is set in Bridge through group affiliations to content.

Required

If a learner is enrolled directly into a piece of content as an individual learner through the “Add via CSV” function or directly in the interface, that content will be required by default (whether or not a due date has been formally set in the course settings).

Required content appears at the top of the learner’s My Learning page.

Course settings are managed up by the Account Admin, Author, or manager (with permissions), including where or not the enrollment completions should expire and/or the learner should re-enroll.

This is content that is non-negotiable for the learner. It could be compliance training, safety training, onboarding curriculum, or role-specific training that the user is held accountable to complete. Required content creates an enrollment. If this content is set up for re-enrollment, it’s important to understand the enrollment source and how that will impact the future state of the user.

This learner will continue to see this content in the top section of their My Learning page until it’s been completed. The tiles are in order of enrollment date.

Anything that is overdue will move to a "Needs Attention" section at the top followed by the "Required" section.

If enrollment notifications are enabled, the user will receive an email after ten minutes of being enrolled into a learnable item. If there were multiple enrollments to occur in that ten-minute window, they will receive a bundle email with all updates.

Enrollment summary notifications can be enabled for weekly delivery to both learners and their managers to highlight content that is due within seven days or overdue.

Account Admins and managers can pull Analytics Transcript reports for only required content.

These reports can be scheduled for delivery to anyone in or outside of Bridge.

Available in Learning Library

The Learning Library is a separate landing page from My Learning.

This content is set up for self-enrollment to all learners who have viewer access to specific categories and specific pieces of content. It’s organized by the categories that you’ve created (in alphabetical order) and, therefore, customizable to the different groups.
