Can I send bulk notification summaries to people in my organization?

There are three different summary notifications, what Bridge calls “digest” emails, in the admin settings: Learner, Author, and Manager.

Digest email notifications send weekly with any overdue required coursework or required coursework that is due within seven days.

Required content is content that has learner relevancy set to “required” for all learners, specific groups, and/or specific learners.

The digest emails will not include required content that does not have a due date or any content where the learner has self-enrolled, even if that self-enrolled content has a due date setting affiliated with it (i.e. a course from the Learning Library that the learner has selected for themselves that also just happens to have a due date).

All of the digest emails will fall under the “Content” sub-category under the three user categories: Learner, Author, and Manager.

The manager's digest email will include upcoming and overdue content for their entire reporting line, which means that the top of the hierarchy will receive insight into the state of the entire company’s required training.

The day that the emails are sent depends on the day that they are enabled with notifications turned on. If you want to change any of the digest notifications, you will need to completely disable notifications before midnight on the day before they normally send, turning them back on every morning until you reach the desired day of the week.

For example, you want to change them from Monday to Wednesday. You will need to disable notifications in the entire account before midnight Monday (that is 11:59 PM Sunday). On Monday morning, you will turn them on again. On Tuesday before midnight, you will turn them off again (11:59 PM Monday). Then, turn them on again Tuesday morning. You can then leave them on indefinitely.

A sample digest email will look like this Manager Summary:

Clicking on the button to “view all items” will take the manager to the Analytics > Overview page to see all learners in their reporting line and their enrollment statuses. The default setting on this page will be for an enrollment date in the last 90 days (managers may need to adjust this timeframe).

Clicking on the course title will take the manager to the course summary, which will also only show that manager’s reporting line and the enrolment statuses for those learners for all time in that specific learning item.

For authors, the digest emails will take them only to their content, and by default, they can see all learners in the course progression statistics.

For learners, the digest emails will take them directly into their coursework so that they can complete the learning items.

We advise on using these digest emails, specifically for the learners and managers, to create more visibility and accountability around required content.
