How do I map content from a root account to subaccount?

There is an option to maintain root account branding between root and sub-account. This means that the logo and colors on cover slides and certificates will follow the rules of the root account and not those of the sub-account. You can read more (and see an example) here.

Under the course settings, the quiz setting will transfer from root to sub.

These will be grayed out in the sub-account to which they were shared.

The external ID (a free text field for characters of your choosing) and the duration will also persist.

The external ID can be modified in the sub-account without impacting the content in the root account, but the duration will be grayed out in the sub-account.

The settings that will NOT persist are:

  • Due Date (will default to 7 days)
  • Expiration
  • Re-enrollment
  • Certificate
  • Continuing Education Credits

If you have built out a Learning Library in the root account with categories that are visible to All Learners, you can maintain the categories, tags, and the learner relevance.

In the root, we have categories and tags for “Slack Best Practices.”

SIDE NOTE. You cannot separate the sharing of categories and tags into two separate pieces of data. They are stored in the same location in the backend of Bridge, so are only able to persist both of them.

We set the learner relevance to “In Library” for All Learners.

SIDE NOTE. You can only affiliate learner relevance to the All Learners group because it is the only guaranteed consistent group between both accounts. The root and sub-accounts are designed to be autonomous instances with different sets of users, so there is only to share learner relevance for All Learners.

We share the course to our customer training portal.

The categories and tags are grayed out (with an option to also add unique identifiers based on the needs of the sub-account.

The All Learners group relevance will also be grayed out.

The course data that does affiliate will do so in real time. Changes in the root account will automatically impact the sub-account course data.
