Integration Configuration
The technical integration between your instance of Bridge and your Credly account will be configured collaboratively by implementation personnel on both the Bridge and Credly sides upon purchase of both products. High-level, this means that:
1. The Admin Dashboard tool used to set the “rules” determining what Badges will be issued upon completion of certain courses and/or programs within Bridge will be loaded in by the Bridge Implementation Consultant as an LTI resource (‘Tool”) in Bridge.
2. The Bridge Implementation Consultant, working with Credly, will set up a connection (via API) between Bridge and Credly so that learning item completions in Bridge will automatically result in Badges being issued on Credly’s website.
3. The following Administrator Experience and Learner Experience sections below detail how Administrators and Learners will interact with Credly in conjunction with Bridge, respectively.
Administrator Experience
1. Administrators will log into their Credly account, navigate to the ‘Profile’ icon on the top right of the page and navigate to their Organization, which will display their Badge Templates.
2. From this page, they can click the ‘Add Template’ button to create a new Badge. Badges need to be created through the Credly website first. Once created in Credly, they will appear in Bridge, for Admins to associate with particular course/program completions (will show this process below). Note: Metadata such as ‘Description’, ‘Skills’, etc. are pertinent for searching/sharing Badge details on Credly, but will not directly affect the integration between Bridge and Credly.
3. From your Bridge instance, navigate to ADMIN > Tools > My Credentials. From there, you will see all the Badges you have published through Credly. From here, click ‘Manage Rules’ for the Badge you wish to issue upon specific course/program completions in Bridge. Note: This dashboard will only be visible to Admins who have permission to manage LTI tools within Bridge.
4. After clicking the ‘Manage Rules’ link (see Step #3 above), you can set rules that will dictate what events in Bridge will result in the Badge being issued to the learner on Credly. Simply put, this means picking which progression of course/program completions in Bridge will result in the Badge being added to the learners Credly dashboard. Click ‘Save’ when done. Per the view below, setting this rule means that when a learner successfully completes the Bridge program ‘Employee Onboarding’, the Badge will be issued to them via Credly.
Learner Experience
1. In Bridge, learners will complete their courses and programs as usual.
2. When learners complete a Bridge course or program associated with a Badge, an email will be automatically sent to the learner, notifying that they have earned a Badge. The ‘View Details’ button in the email will redirect them to the Credly website, where it will automatically log them into their profile if they have previously logged in to Credly, or prompt them to set up a password/configure their profile if they have not.
3. After clicking on the ‘View Details’ button within the email, they will be redirected to the details page about their Badge, where they can view more details about the Badge (added by the admin on Credly per Step 2 of the Admin Experience detailed above) and choose the visibility of their Badge on Credly.
4. Here, they will also be able to share the news that they have earned a Badge directly on social media sites like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook if they choose.
5. Alternatively, through Bridge, learners can access their Credly dashboard page via hyperlink by navigating to TOOLS > My Credentials. This will automatically open up a new browser window where they can see all of the badges they’ve earned, from Bridge or other platforms, on the Credly website.
