FAQ
How would you update all UIDs in an account?
You either need to handle this in the interface or via API. In the interface, first disable auto csv if applicable.
For multiple users (i.e. you update your company email address), reach out to Support and include a file with two columns, old UID and new UID. NOTE: Timelines are critical if also using SSO
Is there a specific step-by-step that we could share with our IT team to ensure they do this correctly when it comes to our auto CSV?
For manual user management:
- Navigate to the Users profile > update the Unique Identifier column > press save
- Ensure the updated UID is the value used in all subsequent user files
For Auto CSV user management:
- Disable Auto CSV
- Navigate to the Users profile > update the Unique Identifier column > press save
- Ensure the updated UID is the value used in all subsequent user files
- Re-enable the Auto CSV feed
For Mass update of UIDs:
Send a csv file to Support. The file should contain two columns - old UID and new UID.
NOTE: Please provide the date and time you would like the change to me made. Requests for UID change should be made no later than one week prior to required change over.
Can we remove one person from a Smart Group as they are exemptions to the rules?
You are not able to delete users from a Smart Group because their membership in the group is based on the logic set. If their profile data matches the logic, they will be automatically added to the group. A work around would be to use the "UID" field: IS NOT to exclude the individual.

Can we message managers?
Bridge does not have messaging options by role (ie Admin, Author, Manager). You can however message by group or by content. If you had a manager group (ie manager = Y), then you would be able to message them leveraging group messages.
Is there a way to report on user attributes from within a learning item itself? Ex. I want department info
Using the export enrollments option from any learning item contains users profile information within the data.
Selecting "is not null" in Analytics is the way to pull all user custom field data from a transcript?
Selecting the “is not null” option in the custom field filter will provide all custom fields data available for the users in the data set.
Do you have a sense of how many total users or what turnover rate is the tipping point where auto csv starts to make sense?
Data size is not typically the factor here. Instead it is typically dependent on resources. Does the manual management of user data cost your team too much time/effort? Additionally, it likely comes down to the data integrity and availability in your source of truth (HRIS). Is the system able to provide an export that contains all of the user attributes you need to leverage within Bridge.
