Skills communities are groups organized around skills that create opportunities for personalized development and mentorship in Bridge.
Adding your skills to your profile creates opportunities to connect with peers, share knowledge, and mentor others.
Tip: Fill out your Bridge profile for a more personalized learning and mentorship experience.
How to Use the Skills Community in Bridge
Go to Me > Skills Community.
The skills community is divided into three tabs: Skills, Future Roles, and Interests.
Skills
Use the free-text search bar to look for a skill you want to develop or select one of the skills you’ve already added to your profile to explore:
Roles With This Skill
This includes any job roles in your organization that require this skill. Click a title to explore it in the Future Roles tab.
Skills
Find and connect with people who have the skill, want to develop it, and are willing to help others.
Learning
Explore and enroll in relevant training to help you improve.
Future Roles
The Future Roles tab allows you to explore titles that align with your career goals, see your current skills gaps, and get targeted recommendations to close them. Search for a role to see key details:
Skills Match
The Skills Match % helps you understand your current alignment with your future roles based on the skills you have (highlighted in green) and your gaps (highlighted in red).
Tip: Click “Save as Future Role” to add a job role to your Career Vision.
People Recommendations
People Recommendations gives you a targeted list of coworkers across the organization who can help you with your development and career progression.
Profiles are organized by color, making it easy to find and connect with others who:
- Are willing to help (profile cards highlighted in green)
- Are already in the role (highlighted in blue)
- Have the skills you want to work on (highlighted in yellow)
Interests
Unlike skills, interests are free-text entries. Adding interests to your profile is a useful way to build relationships across the company.
Select one of your interests or use the search bar, and you’ll see a list of people who have added it to their profiles.
How to Access the Skills Community via People Search
You can also access the skills community via Company > People Search in the primary navigation.
There, you can use the free-text search bar to find people and communities in your organization.
As you type, you’ll see any relevant skill community cards and directory profile cards matching your search term.
Tip: If no results appear as you type, complete your search term, then press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
You’ll see a list of relevant communities that match your query on the right-hand side. Click the card to open the skills community.
To view a skills community from someone's profile, view their profile and select any of their skills or interests.
