Bridge puts you in charge of your development and career growth. By requesting ongoing, timely feedback from peers and managers, you can measure your mastery of the skills required for your role and get actionable insights to improve and grow.
How to Request Feedback in Bridge
Open the global navigation in Bridge and go to Me > Feedback.
There, you can click Request Feedback to get started.
Below, you’ll also see the following:
- Give Feedback: Any pending assessments that need to be completed.
- Open: Your requested and open assessments.
- Past: Your completed or expired assessments.
You’ll also see a list of all past feedback requests, including status and whether they were requested by you or your manager. Click a request to view more details.
There are two types of feedback to choose from:
1. Skills Feedback
By asking a select group of peers to rate you and describe how you’re doing on specific skills, you can see where you excel and where there’s room to grow.
Add a Title
The feedback title field will default to “Skills Feedback.” Click the textbox to change it to something more descriptive.
Choose Your Skills
You’ll see a list of skills associated with your role. Click to choose the ones you’d like to request feedback on.
You can also click + New Skill to find and add a skill that’s not associated with your job role. To remove a skill from your assessment, click the X.
Tip: We recommend choosing between two and five skills.
Review Assessment Standards
The assessment standard is the benchmark your company uses to assess your professional development and performance.
The industry standard shows how your mastery of a skill is measured against broader standards.
Select Assessors
Choose the assessors you’d like to request feedback from. By default, you’ll see a pre-populated list of people within your organization. You can click to select from this list, or use the free-text search bar to add more.
Tip: For best results, we recommend selecting at least five assessors.
Define Feedback Visibility
By default, feedback responses are visible to both you and your manager. Toggling the Manager Sign-Off option off keeps your results hidden until your manager chooses to share them. Ask your manager which option they prefer.
Note: You might see additional options depending on how your company has configured Bridge.
Send Request
Click Cancel to return to the feedback overview screen, and Send Request to submit it to your chosen assessors.
Once you send a request, you’ll see a confirmation message at the top of the screen.
View Your Feedback Results
From the Feedback Overview screen, you can click a request to view your results.
Depending on your organization's preferences, you may see a Likert scale when viewing your assessment results (a line where red represents low and green represents high). The placement of your profile picture indicates the average mastery level chosen by your assessors, from lowest to highest mastery.
Underneath the scale, you’ll see a list of responses detailing how your assessors think you currently demonstrate each skill and what you can do to improve.
2. Start-Stop-Continue Feedback
Start-stop-continue feedback is ideal for identifying your strengths, areas for improvement, and actionable steps for growth.
You’ll get instant insights that you can use to improve behaviors and processes by asking others what you should start, stop, and continue doing.
Add a Title
By default, the title of this request will be “Start-Stop-Continue.” However, you can rename your request to make it more descriptive by clicking the title field in the top-left corner of the screen.
Describe Your Feedback Request
Add some information to help your coworkers understand why you’re requesting feedback and what kind of input you’re looking for.
You’ll be prompted to input details in the following three fields:
What Are You Requesting Feedback On?
Add a short title to describe what you’ve been working on, so your reviewers know what you’re looking for feedback about.
E.g., running our team meeting.
Why Do You Want Feedback?
Add a short description to help your coworkers understand why you want feedback.
E.g., I want to understand how I can improve my presentation skills and what I’m currently doing well to keep our meetings as productive as possible.
How Long Should This Request Be Open?
Set the time limit for coworkers to provide feedback. By default, this is set to two weeks. Use the dropdown to select a different duration.
Select Your Assessors
Choose who you want to send your feedback request to. Since you’re requesting feedback about a specific project or process, it’s good practice to choose people you’ve worked closely with.
Click to select an assessor or use the free-text search bar to find someone.
Define Feedback Visibility
By default, feedback requests are visible to you and your manager. Toggling the Manager Sign-Off option hides your results until your manager chooses to share them. Ask your manager which option they prefer.
Submit Your Request
Click Send Request once you’re ready to submit your request to your chosen assessors.
View Your Feedback Results
Once completed, view your request in the Feedback Overview screen. You’ll see a list of text-based responses from your assessors about what you should start, stop, and continue to do.
