Changing your Bridge URL requires planning to avoid disrupting your users and integrations. This article explains what you need to prepare, what Bridge will update, and what may require additional engineering work.
Important: Changing your Bridge URL is a chargeable service. Before submitting a request, contact your Account Manager to discuss the cost, implementation timeline, and any additional work that may be required.
Before You Request a URL Change
Before requesting a URL change, keep the following in mind:
- Your previous Bridge URL will not redirect to the new URL. Users will need to update any saved bookmarks and, if applicable, the URL they use to sign in through the Bridge mobile app.
- Update any internal links that point to your Bridge site, including those in SharePoint, Confluence, your company intranet, and other internal documentation.
- Go to Admin > Account Settings to find a list of tools that use your Bridge URL.
Review Features That Require Additional Updates
Some Bridge features require additional work when your URL changes.
Before scheduling the change, Bridge Support will confirm whether your account uses any of the following:
- Journeys
- Skills attached to user profiles
- Bridge Advanced Media
- Live Training calendar integrations (Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook)
If your account uses any of these features, Bridge may need to coordinate additional engineering work before completing the URL change.
Note: Accounts using Journeys or Skills require an engineering request to update these references.
Schedule Your URL Change
Once you've reviewed the considerations above, contact your Account Manager to request a URL change.
Your Account Manager and Bridge Support will help schedule the change at a suitable time. If engineering work is required, the timing will be coordinated to help minimize disruption to your users.
After the change is complete, your users can sign in using the new Bridge URL, and you can update any required integrations or internal links within your account settings.
