Recurring Live Training

JAMES PEDERSEN

Hello folks!  We have a group on campus that does live training every Wednesday.  We have one live training set up with different sessions, but this isn't a great solution since a user can only be enrolled in one session at a time, and they may want to sign up for multiple weeks.  How are you folks dealing with a situation like this?  I know they could just do a different live training every week, but that means we'll have dozens of different live trainings.

Hey, JAMES PEDERSEN ! Great question. The challenge is that every Live Training has an ID. Every learner has an ID. In Bridge, every learner ID can only have one live enrollment to a Live Training ID. I do have questions around volume of these trainings per week/month and the frequency in which learners want to sign up for multiple (and potentially what you think the conversion rate might be if a single Live Training ID could handle multiple enrollments from a learner ID). Without knowing some of those details, I'd advise that you could do a different Live Training per day of the week (but multiple sessions all on that day).

For example, if you have something available everyday, make a Live Training on Monday through Friday (so five Live Trainings). Then have multiple sessions throughout the year that always fall on the days associated with the Live Trainings. If someone is going to sign up for multiple options, it might be because they are not sure what days work best for them.

You can also take Live Trainings and put them into Programs or Journeys if that sort of packaging would be helpful.

Let me know if this sort of thinking works with what you're trying to accomplish. It does require some work up front, but once going, it should take care of itself. You can then set up reporting for a specific set of Live Trainings to aggregate the data.

Thanks Stephanie Kemp !  These are trainings that happen every week at the same time.  We do see a good deal of recurring attendees, as the series focuses on different aspects of one of our systems.  We'd be interested in keeping this as one Live Training rather than potentially 52 live trainings since it would be easier for people to find and sign up for multiple sessions.  It would also result in less clutter for the authors.

Thanks for the extra details, JAMES PEDERSEN . My thought was you could potentially make five Live Trainings (one for every business day) with multiple sessions. Or maybe some variation of that. Totally get if that isn't super functional based on your training model and administrative bandwidth. If you did want to join office hours, someone could talk through it with you there, too!
