How Do I Add Skills and Career Goals to the Career Vision in Bridge?

The Career Vision page in Bridge is a great way to help you define your long-term career goals, find job titles and skills aligned with your ambitions, and connect to peers and learning opportunities.

Your Career Vision is where you and your manager outline your career path so they know what skills you want to develop. Then you can connect these skills with mentors, future roles, and learning opportunities through your Skills Profile.

How to Use the Career Vision in Bridge

Select Me > Career Vision from the primary navigation. There, you can access the following:

Personal Vision Statement

Your vision statement is a summary of your career goals. Click the text box to add a summary of your career goals (up to 140 characters).

Your text will automatically save once you’re done.

Career Drivers

The Bridge Career Drivers activity is your chance to think about what motivates you and what you want to achieve in your career.

After completing the activity with your manager, select the Drivers option, where you can add the following details:

  • Each of your five drivers.
  • A sentence to describe why each one matters to you.
  • How well you feel your needs are being met.
  • The driver you want to focus on improving.

Daily Activities

The Daily Activities section is your opportunity to identify the kind of work you want to be doing at the peak of your career.

Answering these questions can help you set goals and identify future job roles.

  • “What activities bring you the most energy at work?”
  • “What activities leave you feeling drained at work?”
  • “What kind of work would you like to be doing at the pinnacle of your career?”

Desired Skills

Click Desired Skills to choose the skills that are most important for you to develop in your career.

You’ll see any skills you’ve previously added to your profile. Click the trash can icon to delete a skill.

Click + Skill to search for a skill and add it to your Career Vision. When you add a skill, it will also appear in your profile in the Skills I want to develop section.

Select Discover More Skills to visit the Skills Community, where you can find roles, learning, and people connected to skills.

Tip: Fill out your Bridge profile for more personalized skills recommendations based on the skills you have, the ones you want to develop, and those you can help others with. Adding these to your profile helps you connect with learning, future roles, and mentors.

Future Roles

Click Future Roles to visit the Skills Community. There, you can search for job titles you’re interested in within your company.

Use the free text search box to find a role. You’ll see how your current skills match those required for that role, along with learning opportunities to close your skills gaps.

Click Save as Future Role to add it to your Career Vision.

In Summary

The Career Vision page in Bridge allows you to track your long-term career and development goals. Access it by selecting Me > Career Vision in the navigation menu.
