Bridge users receive a variety of notifications directly to the email address associated with their profile. Depending on the trigger, emails are delivered immediately, bundled in seven-minute intervals, or sent weekly.
Prerequisites and Important Callouts
Before managing system notifications, keep the following prerequisites and rules in mind:
- Email Requirements: Users must have a valid email address associated with their profile to receive notifications.
- Account Settings: Notifications must be enabled for your account. Admins can manage email settings and unsubscribe individual Learners from non-essential emails.
-
Excluded Actions: Bridge does not trigger email notifications for the following events:
- Adding users to a group
- Assigning roles to users
- Approving group checkpoints
- Adding and receiving certificates

How Email Notification Bundling Works
To prevent Learner inboxes from being flooded, Bridge automatically bundles certain assignment notifications. The system holds these updates for approximately seven minutes to collect real-time events, such as multiple courses assigned at once, into a single summary email.
Note on Bundling vs. Weekly Summary: Notification bundling is a real-time seven-minute delay used to group rapid updates. It is separate from the weekly summary email, which is a scheduled roundup of upcoming and overdue items.
Notification Delivery Frequency
Delivery timing depends on the specific event type.
Bundled Notifications (~7-Minute Delay)
Bridge holds and groups the following Learn assignment notifications:
- Course assigned (individual or group enrollment)
- Program assigned
- Checkpoint (task) assigned
Immediate Notifications
Bridge delivers all other system triggers immediately as they happen. Immediate notifications include:
- Course completions (sent when a course contains employee-visible attachments)
- Course update alerts and Course Retain notifications
- Live training invitations and registration confirmations
- Checkpoint approvals and approver summaries
- Survey invitations
- Recognition notifications
- Password resets and account setup invitations
- Bridge messages sent directly to users
