How to Manage LinkedIn Learning Content in Bridge

Integrate your LinkedIn Learning account with Bridge to give Learners a single place to discover, launch, and complete learning content. Once configured, Bridge automatically synchronizes your LinkedIn Learning catalog, helping keep your learning library up to date with minimal administration.

Note: Bridge does not license or sell LinkedIn Learning content. Your organization must maintain a separate agreement with LinkedIn.

Important: We advise against connecting a LinkedIn Learning trial account. The integration imports your entire LinkedIn Learning catalog, and imported courses aren't automatically removed if you decide not to continue with the trial. This may leave unwanted courses in your Bridge account and Data Dump files.

Setting Up the LinkedIn Learning Integration

To ensure seamless and secure access to your content, Bridge can act as the identity provider (IdP) for Single Sign-On (SSO).

The Bridge and LinkedIn Learning integration requires the following:

  • An active LinkedIn Learning subscription.
  • A subscription purchased directly from LinkedIn.
  • Admin access to LinkedIn Learning.
  • Admin access to Bridge.

LinkedIn Learning Licensing Requirements

LinkedIn Learning licensing is managed entirely by LinkedIn.

To ensure learners can access content:

  • The Learner's Bridge User ID (UID) must exactly match their LinkedIn Learning email UID.
  • Matches must be case-sensitive.

If you need help configuring the integration, contact your Account Manager or our Bridge support team. You can also read this guide, ‘LinkedIn Learning and Bridge Deep Integration Guide,’ for more information.

Removing the LinkedIn Learning Integration in Bridge

To remove the LinkedIn Learning integration in your Bridge account, you need to disable the app within your account settings. This hides content from Learners and stops catalog updates.

How to remove the integration in Bridge:

  1. Go to Admin > General > Account Settings
  2. Navigate to the Apps tab and locate LinkedIn Learning
  3. Click the toggle button off.

Note: Removing the SSO connection requires Admin access to your LinkedIn Learning account.

Managing LinkedIn Learning Content in Bridge

Once integrated, your entire LinkedIn Learning catalog is automatically imported into Bridge.

LinkedIn Learning courses are managed automatically through the integration, so Admins can’t manually synchronize the content library.

Bridge performs a nightly synchronization whenever LinkedIn Learning publishes changes, including:

  • New courses
  • Updated metadata
  • Course revisions
  • Retired courses

New Courses

New courses included in your LinkedIn Learning subscription are automatically imported during the next synchronization.

Retired Courses

When LinkedIn Learning retires a course:

  • The course is archived in Bridge
  • Learners who have completed the course keep their completion history
  • Learners who haven't completed the course can no longer access it

Controlling Learner Access to LinkedIn Learning Courses

None of the content will be visible to your learners until the category relevance is set to be made available in the Learning Library or an individual course is assigned or given relevance to individuals or groups.

To make LinkedIn content available, go to Author > Courses, then select a course to find settings. There, you can:

  • Navigate to the Learners and Groups tabs to assign content
  • Add courses to Programs
  • Add courses to Journeys
  • Control visibility using Enrollment Sources and setting Learner Relevance

Organizing LinkedIn Learning Content

LinkedIn Learning categories and tags are automatically pulled into Bridge. Categories and tags can be updated and deleted, but the integration sync could override your changes.

The integration with LinkedIn Learning pulls these course skills directly into Bridge as categories and tags. If your subscription includes Bridge’s skills management features, you can leverage AI to map content with the relevant skills and expose it to the right learners.

Depending on your subscription, Bridge may also create language-based categories. You can also create your own categories and tags in Bridge to further organize content.

Tip: Find out more about Bridge’s skills tagging capabilities.

Understanding the Learner Experience

LinkedIn Learning courses appear alongside Bridge courses in the Learning Library. Learners can identify courses by the LinkedIn Learning logo displayed on course cards in both list and tile views. They can also filter and search within the library to find relevant courses.

Learners should always launch LinkedIn Learning courses directly from Bridge to ensure enrollment and completion data synchronize correctly.

The first time a Learner launches a LinkedIn Learning course, they'll be prompted to select Register Now before being redirected to LinkedIn Learning.

How to Find LinkedIn Learning Courses in Bridge

Admins can identify LinkedIn Learning courses in two ways.

1. Filter Courses

Navigate to Author > Courses, then filter Content Type by LinkedIn.

Courses will display the LinkedIn logo, and LinkedIn will be listed as the course owner.

2. Download All Data (Data Dump)

Go to Admin > Tools > Download All Data and click Generate Export.

Open the file entitled course_templates.csv.

In Column N, the course_type value identifies the course type.

A value of 4 indicates a LinkedIn Learning course.

Accessing LinkedIn Learning Course Reporting and Analytics

LinkedIn Learning activity is included alongside Bridge-authored learning, giving you a single view of details like enrollments, progress, and completions across your learning catalog.

You can also filter reports and transcripts to view LinkedIn Learning activity separately from Bridge-authored content.

Tip: Read more about Bridge Analytics.

Bridge and LinkedIn Learning Integration: FAQs

Q: How does the LinkedIn Learning integration work?

A: The integration imports your organization's entire LinkedIn Learning catalog, giving learners a single place to access content. The content imported depends on the LinkedIn Learning subscription your organization has purchased.

Q: Can I connect a LinkedIn Learning trial account to Bridge?

We advise against connecting a LinkedIn Learning trial account since the integration imports your entire LinkedIn Learning catalog, and imported courses aren't automatically removed if you decide not to continue with the trial. This may leave unwanted courses in your Bridge account and your data exports as a result.

Q: Can Bridge Admins manually trigger a sync with LinkedIn Learning’s content library?

No. Bridge’s integration automatically refreshes nightly to ensure new LinkedIn Learning content is available within 24 hours of release. This sync accounts for new content, as well as any replacements and retirements.

Q: What happens when content is retired?

The course will be archived in Bridge. Learners will still be able to see the course in the Learning Library in Completed, but those marked Not Started Yet or In Progress will lose access.

Q: How do I make LinkedIn Learning courses available to learners?

LinkedIn Learning courses appear in the Learning Library only if an Admin has made them available using Learner Relevance or by making categories available to individuals or groups.

Q: Can I change or delete category names?

Although you can edit or delete imported categories, future synchronizations may restore them if LinkedIn Learning publishes updates using the original category.

Q: Can authorship of LinkedIn Learning courses be transferred?

LinkedIn Learning courses always display LinkedIn as the course author. Although you can transfer authorship, the displayed author remains LinkedIn. The API records the individual who initiated the transfer.
