FAQ

If we restrict editing to content owners, does that only restrict their editing access under the Course page?

That is correct, limit content editing to the owner only applies to courses at this time. Editing other items like checkpoints is still accessible for all users with authoring permissions.

**Limit content editing to owners is a setting enabled on the back end by Bridge Support**

My toggle is OFF for "Limit Manager Permissions". I think this means that Managers are not able to author and/or assign content to their hierarchies. Is that right?

Correct! By default Managers can author and assign content. You would need to limit or turn ON the limit manager permissions option to remove their ability to author & assign content (and don’t forget to hit save at the bottom of the page to make changes!).

Can you give access to some managers and not others? It looks like its all or nothing

By default it is all or nothing. All Managers by default can author and enroll. By limiting manager permissions you limit the ability for all Managers to author and enroll. To give some manager back the ability to author and/or enroll, you would need to leverage custom roles and assign them on a per user basis.

We have a bunch of courses with no Author, what does that mean?

If there is no Author listed under the title of the course in your course list, this means that the Author is no longer a user in Bridge. You can make Author updates or transfer author ownership from the courses page.

Can you use a Powerpoint that has a video in it?

The authoring tool essentially takes screenshots of each slide in a PPT to create a course slide. Animations, videos, etc. would not be playable. The best way to do include the accompanying video content would be to load it directly to the course

How do we create the resource library?

Here is a guide on setting up the BAM resource library:

Does OpenSesame have a cost?

Yes, OpenSesame is a content partner that provides content for purchase. You can see their packages in the marketplace. See more here.

For Live Trainings, can learners register for multiple sessions? I think it's because I'm adding them on the back-end and so then they'll show up twice. But I hear that she's saying - a learner can only enroll themselves in ONE session for live training.

Correct! An Admin or Author can add learners directly to Live Training sessions, but if the Live Training is made available to them from an enrollment (or within a program or journey), they will only have access to enroll into one session of their choice.

DEFINITELY interested in attending a webinar devoted to Bridge Advanced Media.

We’d be happy to host another session on Bridge Advanced Media and based on the feedback will prioritize scheduling one. In the meantime, here is the recording of the Bridge Advanced Media Best Practices session we held earlier this year.

Is there a way to change the default video settings so it is video only and not video with comments?

Yes, these settings are configurable. Support can bulk turn off comments if you do not want them in your BAM content.

Is there a way to temporarily hide a course once Learner Relevance is set to (e.g.) Available in Library? For example, if you accidentally make a course available too early. I'm thinking about manually assigned learner relevance. Another scenario would be where a course is set to "Available in Library" for all learners, but then we decide it should only be available to a limited group.

In this case, you would simply need to remove the enrollment source. i.e. Remove the group that has relevance set for the piece of content (in the screenshot below, the All Learners group is set to see the content in the Learning Library). Depending on their status in the material, they may continue to see the content i.e. Completed users will maintain access.
