How to Use Bulk Actions in Courses 

Bulk actions allow you to quickly manage multiple learners within a course, saving time and helping keep data accurate. Instead of updating users individually, you can complete, reset, re-enroll, and remove multiple enrollments in just a few clicks, along with updating due dates, completion dates, and expiration dates where needed.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to bulk delete enrollments, bulk re-enroll users, bulk reset users, bulk mark users complete, and bulk update due dates, completion dates, and expiration dates.

Accessing Bulk Actions in Courses

  1. Open the Global Navigation menu in Bridge and click the Author icon.
  2. Select Courses.
  3. Click the name of the course you want to manage.
  4. Open the Learners tab to view enrolled users.
  5. From the learner table, select the checkbox next to one or more users.
  6. Once you’ve selected users, a floating action bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Click Make Selection to open the bulk actions drop-down menu.
1. Bulk Delete Enrollments

This action removes users from the course entirely.

How to Bulk Delete Enrollments

  1. Select the users you want to remove from a course.
  2. Click Make Selection.
  3. Choose Delete from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Confirm.
  5. A drawer will open showing the selected users. 
  6. Click Continue to proceed.
  7. You’ll then see which users were successfully updated and which failed.
  8. Click Dismiss once you’re finished.
2. Bulk Re-Enroll Users

This action re-enrolls users who were previously removed or who have completed the course.

How to Bulk Re-Enroll Users

  1. Select the users you want to re-enroll in a course.
  2. Click Make Selection.
  3. Choose Re-Enroll from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Confirm.
  5. Review the user list in the drawer and click Continue.
  6. You’ll then see which users were successfully updated and which failed.
  7. Click Dismiss once you’re finished.
3. Bulk Reset User Enrollments

This action resets learner progress in the course.

How to Bulk Reset Users

  1. Select the users whose enrollments you want to reset.
  2. Click Make Selection.
  3. Choose Reset from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Confirm.
  5. Review the list of users and click Continue.
  6. You’ll then see which users were successfully updated and which failed.
  7. Click Dismiss once you’re finished.
4. Bulk Mark Complete

This action marks selected learners as having completed the course in bulk.

How to Bulk Complete Enrollments

  1. Select the users you want to mark complete.
  2. Click Make Selection.
  3. Choose Mark Complete from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Confirm.
  5. Review the user list and click Continue.
  6. You’ll then see which users were successfully updated and which failed.
  7. Click Dismiss once you’re finished.
5. Bulk update due dates

This action updates the due date for selected course enrollments.

How to Bulk Update Due Dates

  1. Select the users you want to update from the course.
  2. Click Make Selection.
  3. Choose Change Due Date from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select a new date using the calendar or type it into the field.
  5. Click Confirm.
  6. A drawer will open showing the selected users.
  7. Click Continue to proceed.
  8. You’ll then see which users were successfully updated and which failed.
  9. Click Dismiss once you’re finished.
6. Bulk update completion dates

This action updates the completion date for selected course enrollments.

  1. Select the users you want to update from the course.
  2. Click Make Selection.
  3. Choose Change Completion Date from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select a new date using the calendar or type it into the field.

7. Bulk update expiration dates

This action updates the expiration date for selected course enrollments.

  1. Select the users you want to update from the course.

  3. Choose Change Expiration Date from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select a new date using the calendar or type it into the field.

  7. Click Continue to proceed.
  8. You’ll then see which users were successfully updated and which failed.
  9. Click Dismiss once you’re finished.

Notes and Best Practices for Using Bulk Actions

  • Bulk actions require specific permissions. If you don’t see an option, check your role permissions.
  • Always review the list of selected users before clicking Continue.
  • A confirmation screen will show both successful and failed updates for transparency.
  • Bulk actions can’t be undone, so always use caution when deleting or resetting enrollments.
  • Bulk actions are also available in programs and checkpoints, allowing you to manage multiple users at the same time.
