How Do I Embed a Panopto Video in a Bridge Course?

Embedding Panopto videos directly into Bridge course slides allows Learners to view video content seamlessly without leaving their training. Admins and Authors can embed Panopto content by using the Panopto LTI tool or pasting a video link via Bridge's Embedly integration.

Note: Using the Panopto LTI or any other LTI tool requires backend setup via the Bridge Support Team.

Before You Begin

Ensure you meet the following requirements before adding videos to your course:

  • You must have Author permissions in Bridge.
  • You need an active Panopto account with sharing permissions set to allow viewing and embedding for your target audience.
  • To use the Panopto icon directly inside the slide editor, your organization's Bridge Admin must work with Bridge Support or your Implementation team to configure the Panopto LTI tool.

Option 1: Embed a Panopto Video in Bridge Using the LTI Tool

Using the LTI integration is the recommended method for embedding video content directly into your slides.

1. Open the Course Editor

Select Author > Courses from the Global Navigation menu, then select the course you want to edit and click the pencil icon, or select + New Course to create a new one.

2. Locate the Panopto Tool

Select an existing slide on the left-hand side of the screen or click Add Content to add a new one. Choose where you want the video to appear within the content editor, then select the media icon from the toolbar. From the list of icons that appear, select the Panopto button.

3. Insert Your Video

Open the dropdown menu to view your Panopto folders or use the free text search bar. Select a folder, click Choose, and then locate and select the video. Click Insert to add it to your course.

4. Preview Your Course

Your video will be embedded in your course slide. Click the eye icon in the top right corner of the course editor to preview the course and confirm playback.

NOTE: If you don't see the Panopto icon in your editor, your organization hasn't configured the LTI tool yet. Contact your Bridge Admin or use the link method below.

Option 2: Paste a Video Link in Bridge Using Embedly

If your account doesn't have the LTI tool configured, you can paste a direct video link using Bridge's Embedly integration.

1. Copy the Panopto Video Link

Log into your Panopto account, find the video you want to share in your library, and copy the shareable link. This link must begin with https://

2. Paste the Link Into Bridge

Go to Author > Courses, open your course, and select your slide. Paste the link into the editor.

3. Convert the Video Link

Press Enter (Windows) or Return (Mac). Bridge automatically converts the URL into an embedded video player.  Save your changes and click the eye icon in the top right-hand corner to preview your course.

Troubleshoot Common Issues

Why Don't I See the Panopto Icon in the Editor?

The Panopto icon only appears when your organization configures the Panopto LTI integration. Ask your Bridge Admin to provide your LTI credentials to Bridge Support.  In the meantime, you can paste the direct video link.

Why Does My Video Display as a Text Link Instead of a Player?

  • Verify the video URL starts with https://.
  • Confirm that your Panopto administrator has enabled embedding for the video.

Why Are Learners Receiving an Access Error?

Videos inherit sharing permissions from the folder they’re located in Panopto. Bridge doesn't manage Panopto access permissions. Update the sharing settings in Panopto to ensure your enrolled Learners have permission to view the content.

Note on LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) Integrations

Bridge supports LTI 1.2 integrations for embedding external tools, learning content, and platform applications (such as BAM in the Learning Library).

Because LTI integrations require backend setup and credentials, configuration must be completed by Bridge Support.

To review supported LTI placements, requirements, and instructions on how to request an integration, see our Overview of LTI Integrations & Placements in Bridge article.
