Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) allows third-party tools, applications, and learning platforms to integrate directly into Bridge.
LTI is not limited to external course content—it can also power integrated tools and applications across different parts of the Bridge platform (such as Bridge Advanced Media in the Learning Library).
Important Technical Requirements
- Supported Version: Bridge currently supports LTI 1.2 only.
- Setup Model: Because LTI tool registrations require custom tool consumer credentials and backend configuration, LTI integrations cannot be self-configured by admins. Setup must be enabled by Bridge Support.
Note: LTI 1.3 is currently not supported.
Supported LTI Placements in Bridge
Depending on your organization’s configuration and the specific tool, LTI integrations can be placed in different areas across Bridge:
Course Authoring
Embed third-party learning modules, external assessments, or interactive course tools directly within a Bridge course.
Learning Library
Launch platform-wide tools, learning extensions, or external hubs (e.g., BAM / Bridge Advanced Media) directly from the Learning Library.
Navigation and Account Extensions
Launch external administration or reporting tools directly within designated navigation placements in Bridge.
How to Request an LTI Integration Setup
Before submitting a request, ensure your third-party tool provider supports LTI 1.2.
Step 1: Gather the Required Credentials
Collect the following from your LTI tool provider:
- LTI Launch URL
- Consumer Key
- Shared Secret
- Intended Placement (e.g., Course Embed vs. Learning Library/BAM)
Step 2: Submit a Support Request
Open a ticket with Bridge Support (navigate to More > Helpful Resources > Start a Ticket in the primary navigation in your Bridge account or select the question mark icon to submit a ticket) or contact your dedicated Account Manager. Include your Bridge Subdomain along with the LTI 1.2 credentials and placement requirements collected in Step 1.
Step 3: Access Your Tool
Once Bridge Support completes backend provisioning, the LTI tool will become available in your specified placement (e.g., ready for authors to embed in courses or visible in the Learning Library for learners).
