FAQs

When can Job Titles be deleted?

Job Titles can only be deleted if there are no employees which have that Job Title. Please note that deleting a Job Title will only impact the root account and not any sub-accounts.

Where can employees be mapped to a Job Title?

Employees can be mapped to a Job Title via your Auto CSV file (if you have that connection set up) or on the Manage Users page. Employees can only be mapped to a Job Title that exists in Bridge.

What happens if a Job Title has two employees mapped to it, and then in Bridge the two employees are removed from the Job Title?

In this situation, the Job Title will show that zero employees are mapped to it, but the Job Title will still appear in the Talent marketplace. Once Bridge reflects that there are no employees that have that Job Title, it can be deleted.

Can a Job Title be edited in the Talent Marketplace?

A Job Title name cannot be edited in the Talent Marketplace at this time.

Are there safeguards in place to protect against duplication of Job Titles?

Case sensitivity and spaces are taken into consideration when reviewing Job Titles so that duplicate Job Titles aren’t created. For example: Sales Operation and sales operation are treated as one Job Title: “Sales Operation”.

How do I know 'where' a Skill came from that I'm seeing in Bridge?

When a Skill is added to a Job Title there are two sources:

  • Bridge = The Skill is a direct match to Lightcast.

  • Admin = The Skill is not a direct match to Lightcast and is considered a custom Skill.

When will a Job Title show up in the Talent Marketplace?

If a new Job Title is added to Bridge, it will take up to 24 hours to display in the Talent Marketplace as the system sync's overnight. If new users are uploaded (or removed) from the account and have a Job Title that already exists in the Talent Marketplace, then the user count in the Talent Marketplace will update immediately. Job Title changes will also display in real-time.

  • Master learner relevance settings for courses, programs, and live trainings.

Customer Empowerment Masterclass: Unlocking SCORM Courses in Bridge - December 2nd, 2025 @ 12pm ET

This inaugural Masterclass is dedicated to demystifying SCORM and helping you get the most out of your externally created content.

In this intensive session, you will learn about:

  • Best Practices for uploading, testing, and deploying SCORM content.
  • The answers to Frequently Asked Questions and common scenarios.
  • Effective Troubleshooting Techniques to ensure smooth course delivery.

Join us for this first Masterclass to confidently manage and utilize all your crucial SCORM files in Bridge.

Q&A from the Session:

SCORM Course Settings & Functionality

  • Q: Does Bridge offer a tool to check SCORM accessibility (like screen reader compatibility) after upload?
    • Bridge does not include a native post-upload accessibility checker. We recommend leveraging third-party accessibility tools or plugins within your course authoring software.
  • Q: Can we set a default to always open SCORM courses in a new window across our entire Bridge account?
    • Universal default settings cannot be managed at the customer level as they apply to all Bridge customers. We encourage you to submit this as a feature request.
  • Q: Which special characters should we avoid in SCORM file names or setup besides the ampersand ($\&$)?
    • Be generally cautious with all special characters, as they can corrupt the SCORM file. The ampersand is the most common issue.
  • Q: What does the "Reset RunTime Data Timing" setting control?
    • This setting is largely a cosmetic update that visually reflects how the SCORM engine already operates. It determines whether the SCORM package retains suspend data (progress data) and whether that data is reset with each new enrollment or sequencing attempt (e.g., when a learner re-takes the course).
  • Q: What is the purpose of the Visible to Learners setting in the Attachments area?
    • This setting should be used only for supplementary files (like PDFs or documents) that learners should download. Do not enable it for the SCORM zip package itself.

Quizzes, Statistics, and Enrollment

  • Q: Why do we see unexpected quiz statistics for SCORM courses in Bridge?
    • Unusual quiz statistics are typically caused by settings in your course authoring tool (e.g., Articulate Rise, Captivate). We recommend contacting your authoring tool support team if you observe strange reporting.
  • Q: If a learner is "complete" in the SCORM file but "in progress" in Bridge, and I upload a new package with "always move enrollments" checked, will they be re-enrolled?
    • The "always move enrollments" setting does NOT trigger re-enrollment. If Bridge still views the learner as "in progress," the enrollment will simply be moved to the new content, effectively starting them over. Manual action is required to re-enroll learners marked as "complete."

Strategic & Administrative

  • Q: What are the key benefits of switching from basic Bridge course creation to SCORM?
    • SCORM offers more powerful tracking, complex sequencing options, and greater design flexibility provided by third-party authoring tools. It is beneficial for highly interactive content or when specialized reporting is needed.
Clarifying Journeys and Programs: Strategic Application for Your Learning Initiatives - September 9th, 12:00pm EDT

Ever wonder whether a Journey or a Program is the best fit for your learning goals in Bridge? You're not alone!

While both are fantastic tools for delivering content, they each have their own unique strengths. Choosing the right one can make all the difference in the world for your training initiatives.

Parker Caywood, our Solutions Architect helps us explore the key differences to confidently choose the right tool for specific scenarios, such as:

  • Training that requires re-enrollment (e.g., annual compliance courses).
  • Creating flexible learning paths that let learners test out of content.
  • Building paths that include certificates of completion, due dates, or expiration dates.

This is your opportunity to gain the clarity you need to design the most effective learning paths for your organization.

FAQs

Can I turn a Program into a Journey?

Yes! A Program can be turned into a Journey. Simply go to Author -> Programs, and click on the Program you'd like to turn into a journey. Then find the three dots in the upper right hand corner, and select "Turn into Journey". Note - the reverse is not possible - a journey can NOT be turned into a program.

Where can I find Journey Analytics?

To see Journey Analytics, you'll need to first turn on this feature by going to Admin ->Account Settings -> Beta then toggle on "Journey Analytics". These analytics can then be found on the Analytics page under Live Trainings.

FAQs

My CSV keeps removing the custom fields I'm adding!
You likely are utilizing AutoCSV, which can only be altered by the source. Speak with your HRIS to add additional custom fields to your CSV file.

What is the difference between default and custom fields?
Default fields are those available from Bridge by default.

Default fields - great for names, department (essential for tagging job titles with skills), UID, etc. These default fields cannot be measured in analytics.

Custom fields - fields you add to facilitate creating Smart Groups and tracking analytics. Common fields include a "Manager Y/N', "New Hire Y/N", "Full/Part Time", "Location" etc. If you need to track analytics, our best practice is to have you create a custom field to duplicate the default field.

What if I'm currently using the default "Department" field for something else?
There is an order of operations that is important to follow based on downstream impacts of making these sorts of changes. We recommend you come to Office Hours for additional support.

How do I manage users that fall into multiple departments?
If you have a large number of users that fall into several departments, you may want to consider creating two columns for departments to separate both (and account for this in your Smart Group logic).

Optimizing New Permission Configurations for the Manager Role - August 12th, 11:00am EDT

Manager permissions in Bridge just got a major upgrade. Gone is the “all or nothing” approach - you now have full control over what managers can do, from assigning training to creating content. This update is based on your feedback and is now officially live after a successful beta.
Stephanie Kemp, Enterprise Accounts Director, provides practical, interactive session focusing on utilizing best practices to configure new manager permissions.

FAQ's

What are the three recommended manager settings?

You can configure a Manager role in Bridge with different levels of control. Here are three we recommend:

  1. Reporter Manager (most limited)
    • Can only run Analytics on their reporting line
    • Has user view access only
  2. Enroller Manager
    • Has all the capabilities of the Reporter Manager
    • Can manage enrollments for their reporting line
  3. Author Manager
    • Has all the capabilities of the Reporter and Enroller Manager
    • Can also author content, create Programs, Journeys, Live Trainings, etc.

You can also create a completely customized role to match your organisation’s needs.

If the three options above don’t fit your unique needs, we recommend joining Office Hours or speaking to your AE to work through building a customised role.

You can download a template with all roles and their respective permissions below, it includes the exact specifications for configuring each of the recommended Manager roles above.

Note: These are not new roles in Bridge. You will need to use the Manager setting as a baseline and then create custom permissions for each role.

What do the Xs, Os, and Dashes Mean in the Tracker?

  • X – A fixed permission that cannot be changed
  • O – A configurable permission that can be switched on or off
  • — (Dash) – A permission that is unavailable to that role

How to Change Manager Permissions in Bridge

  1. Update Admin Settings
    • Go to Admin > General > Account Settings.
    • If enabled, toggle off Limit Manager Permission in admin settings.
    • Don’t forget to click Save.

     2. Configure the Manager Role

  • Navigate to Admin > Users & Permissions > Roles & Permissions.
  • Set up your Manager role according to the desired conditions.

     3. Test the Role

  • Masquerade as a Manager (without any additional custom roles) and test to confirm the expected behaviours.

Tips & Tricks When Testing Manager Roles

  • Test in a subaccount first – We highly recommend testing new roles and permissions in a test subaccount before making changes in your live environment. [Link to create a subaccount]
  • Get support – Drop into Office Hours or speak to your AM if you’d like to walk through how these customisations could work for your organisation.

FAQs

Which AI platforms power Bridge Authoring?

Currently, Bridge Author Pro’s AI features are powered by OpenAI. This integration was prioritized due to its popularity among customers.

  • Future Platforms: Bridge is exploring future integrations with other platforms such as Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini.
  • In-Platform AI: There is also a roadmap to build AI directly into Author Pro—similar to the main Bridge platform—so a separate AI account would not be required in the future.

How much does it cost to use these AI features?

Because the system currently connects to your own OpenAI account, there are associated usage costs:

  • Course Creation: Complete AI course generation typically ranges from under $1.00 to roughly $2.00, depending on the complexity of the prompt.
  • Translations: Translating an entire course ranges from a few cents to a couple of dollars, depending on the course size and the number of languages requested.

Is there a new interface coming for Bridge Author Pro?

  • Yes. A new interface is scheduled for release in the coming weeks. It is designed to harmonize with the look and feel of the main Bridge product, featuring a similar toolbar on the left side and updated dashboards to provide a more seamless user experience.

Can I move courses between Bridge Author Lite and Pro?

  • It is currently on the roadmap to allow users to move courses from Bridge Author Lite to Bridge Author Pro. This will allow authors to start a simple course in the Lite version and later migrate it to Pro if they decide they need more advanced features like dynamic branching or complex interactions.

What sources can the AI reference when creating a course?

  • At this time, the AI can reference publicly available materials, such as websites or public online documents (like a PDF hosted on a URL). The ability to directly upload private PDFs or Word documents to be used as a reference for course creation is a high-priority item on the 2026 roadmap.
